I hope KR can open with 5 maybe 6 innings of well pitched ball. Anything above that is a gravy.

Damn is this really boring or really entertaining, I can't figure it out. Also Rod says that DD said that Miller is going to have to pitch his way out of the rotation.

Thx for that Miller tidbit. I have the Brave's announcers.

5-0 Tigs!

Good job Kenny!

Welcome back Kenny.

Question, if Casey doesn't get thrown out, do you think they still pinch hit for Kenny? Or perhaps they let Kenny hit, meaning he would get to pitch 7 or 8 instead of 6. Or do you think they had him on a bit of a limit with it being his first game back?

Either way, 6 innings of 2 hit ball with 5 K is SOOOOO nice. I just hope Grilli and company don't blow it.

(and I too am wondering what's up with timbeau and his wife having seperate places - strange dog, strange)

I'm going with Green Card marriage. She gets to stay Stateside in exchange for three nights of sex, dinner and Tigers' baseball a month. Not a bad deal.

Magglio Ordonez expects to play Saturday after leaving Friday's game with a bruised left hand.
X-rays taken were negative. Ordonez departed tonight's contest when he was hit by Chad Paronto's offering.

I was extremely nervous when TJ came in with a 1 run lead. The enigma got the job done today. I'll give him credit when it's due. Still don't trust him, but he came up big today.

LOL @ McCann arguing about that pitch even tho Granderson got called out on a pitch lower than that.

Chipper and Smoltz feuding: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2914283

Anybody hear Jim Price calling him "SCHMOLTZ" all game long?

Sunday night game tonight, hopefully things don't turn out like they did at Minnesota that one night.

Miller's auditioning for a rotation spot tonight, some say.

I think he's going back down regardless.

If he only gives up one or two runs and pitches, say, seven or eight innings, I don't know if Leyland will want to. He said Miller needs to pitch himself out of the rotation.

Atlanta's line for the series: 27 innings, 13 hits, 1 run.
Uh oh. Now Detroit has offense AND pitching.
The rest of the league better look out.
Miller looked sharp, but the Braves probably didn't get to scout him too much, since they'll never see him again. The longer he pitches, the more teams will know how to approach him. He was very solid tonight, but don't let it lead you to thinking he can do this on a regular basis, YET.
And Durbin out of the bullpen was excellent tonight. His three innings were priceless for our pen. If he can bring that once or twice each week, suddenly we're not hurting too bad. Add Zumaya in 6-8 weeks and we're playoff ready.

I have a bad feeling that Zumaya will never be the same.

As for Miller, he did fantastic for really only using one pitch. He located his fastball well in on the hands of the batters he faced. Once he can learn to command his off speed stuff, he should be awesome.

That comment made me think of Anderson. That is not something I want to think about when I think about a guy that can be our closer for a decade.
