View Full Version : Brewers @ Tigers
Timone 06-12-2007, 06:56 PM Tigers sweep. Write it down!!
I'm waiting for someone to cream one of those birds Randy Johnson style. Little shits are starting to annoy me.
Glenn 06-12-2007, 08:09 PM That is a very angry signature, Tim.
Timone 06-12-2007, 08:10 PM Would you prefer if I put a picture of the Detroit Shock celebrating their 2006 title with "Don't lose all hope yet Detroit"?
Timone 06-12-2007, 08:17 PM I'm nervous as hell, I hope the Tiggers can put up more runs so Verlander can try to get a no hitter. Hold me.
H1Man 06-12-2007, 08:33 PM Verlander is at 82 pitches through 6 innings. I don't think he will have enough to go all the way, unless he has a really quick inning or two.
Timone 06-12-2007, 08:37 PM I put my dog to sleep today so a no hitter would be sweet as hell.
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 08:44 PM I was trying not to talk about it because I didn't want to curse it. But since you two have already mentioned it and he's just 6 outs away, well, obviously I've talked about it now. With the 4 run lead and about 100 pitches, I wonder if Leyland will let him try for it.
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 08:46 PM Thinking more about it, even if he doesn't get to finish it, you have to feel good about 7 no hit innings with TEN STRIKEOUTS and 3 walks.
Timone 06-12-2007, 08:56 PM NEIFI PEREZ.
Still sucks though.
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 08:58 PM Beautiful! Double play. NOW it's 101 pitches through 8. Leyland HAS to let him finish this.
By the way, what's up with Bill Hall? If it weren't for him Verlander's pitch count would be about 87 so far.
Timone 06-12-2007, 08:58 PM Fuck I hope this shit happens just to hear Rod Allen's reaction.
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:00 PM Think the Brewers will mail in the 9th?
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:03 PM Think the Brewers will mail in the 9th?
Not a chance those bastards
gusman 06-12-2007, 09:06 PM here we go
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:06 PM Damn is it October or something?
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:07 PM Its great this is in Detroit too.
H1Man 06-12-2007, 09:07 PM 1 down.........2 to go.
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:07 PM 1 down
gusman 06-12-2007, 09:08 PM 1 more
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:08 PM How awesome would it be if he struck out the side?
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:08 PM 2 down
H1Man 06-12-2007, 09:08 PM 1 more to go.
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:10 PM PUT MY THREAD IN THE HALL!!!
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:10 PM I own you bitches!
H1Man 06-12-2007, 09:10 PM YES!!!
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:10 PM THE HALL!!!
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 09:10 PM YEAH BABY!
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:11 PM First no hitter since Jack? Wow. I remember that one and that was a long time ago.
gusman 06-12-2007, 09:11 PM yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:12 PM That's his girl? THIS KID IS MY HERO.
gusman 06-12-2007, 09:12 PM she is hot
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 09:14 PM Wow, when factoring in the 12 strikeouts, by far his career high, that makes it even sweeter! Not to mention this win, coupled with the Marlins possibly beating the Indians (currently leading 3-0 I think) it would put us into a tie for first place in the division (which means less being June 12th than it would if it was Sept 12th, but get off me).
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:14 PM Looking at the bigger picture, hopefully this will light a fire up under the rest of their asses.
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 09:15 PM This may deserve it's own thread, seperate from the rest of the Brewers series thread.
Jethro34 06-12-2007, 09:16 PM Looking at the bigger picture, hopefully this will light a fire up under the rest of their asses.
It certainly helped the team that the bullpen didn't have to throw. The less they throw the better.
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:16 PM Yeah, I made the thread with the initial thought that Verlander would do something special. Hence the reason I didn't put "Brewers @ Tigers 6/12-6/14"
>_>
Tahoe 06-12-2007, 09:35 PM I just wanted to add that if Timbeau does get props, that I suggested anything he would get props for, to him just before game time.
DrRay11 06-12-2007, 09:36 PM After Verlander struck out the first batter in the 9th, I knew this shit was happening. Could just feel it, he was filthy out there tonight.
Anyone see Leyland/Verlander hug? I thought Leyland tried to sneak in a kiss on the lips, lol.
Timone 06-12-2007, 09:47 PM I called a Tigers sweep too so if they sweep them can I at least get some damn alpacas for my gambling addiction?
darkobetterthanmelo 06-12-2007, 09:55 PM Dude was just straight amazing with that off speed stuff. To hit 101 on the gun in the 9th was just surreal.
MoTown 06-12-2007, 10:01 PM Freakin' awesome!
Timone 06-12-2007, 10:03 PM Mahhhhlins over the Indians too. Man what a great night. Now hopefully the Spurs can take that 3-0 lead vs. Cleveland and end this shitty series.
Glenn 06-13-2007, 09:55 AM e-ray, I was so tempted to post about the no-no in the 7th inning, but I kept thinking about pissing you off (re:jinx) so I refrained.
That was an awesome performance, especially the first two batters in the 9th. They had no clue what was coming and were left looking like fools.
Timone 06-13-2007, 10:57 AM Sucks I didn't know who Bill Hall was or else I would've made sure he didn't make it to the game. Who was the other batter Justin walked btw?
WTFchris 06-13-2007, 11:03 AM I only knew Hall because I had him on my fantasy team as a reserve last year (played a bunch of IF postions and hit close to .300).
DrRay11 06-13-2007, 12:09 PM Glenn, it's a good thing you didn't, or else it would have been a no-no-no.
Tahoe 06-13-2007, 12:14 PM We think of JV as our 3rd pithcer after Rogers and Bondy. I think its time to re-think that.
Zekyl 06-13-2007, 01:12 PM Let him finish the year as the #3 and next year he can be #1. Gives him just a bit more time to develop mentally into that #1 guy.
Wizzle 06-13-2007, 04:44 PM just a few pics of last night

Flat out amazing
Timone 06-13-2007, 07:05 PM Nice piece of ass he's pulling too.
Timone 06-13-2007, 07:08 PM Well, there went Maroth's no no.
Tahoe 06-13-2007, 07:38 PM Thats an odd double play but beauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutiful
Tahoe 06-13-2007, 08:19 PM I know a lot of peeps aren't too kean on Maroth but I feel he is still only going to get better. He can pitch the speed he is now all the way to the end of his career. So I'm thinking he'll still get better.
I see him in the Frank Tanana mold. His contract will not be a ball buster either. He won't demand the big BIG bucks.
Unless he is desperately needed to complete a deal for Babe Ruth, I still say keep him on the payroll.
edit spelling...keen>kean.
Timone 06-13-2007, 08:22 PM I'm one of those people who aren't keen on Maroth, but hopefully he does get better.
Tahoe 06-13-2007, 09:13 PM small ball anyone? Inge with a single, to second on a balk, 3rd on Nefi's sweet sac bunt and home on a single by Grandy.
2-1 Tigers
Timone 06-13-2007, 10:12 PM Fucking a.
Jethro34 06-13-2007, 11:10 PM Is anyone in our pen capable? Dang Rodney, you piece of crap.
And what's up with Tiger killer Bill Hall? Through 2 games, he has 4 walks and 3 extra base hits in his 7 plte appearances, including being a part of every run the Brewers have scored so far in this series.
Timone 06-13-2007, 11:11 PM There's always SOMEONE who kills the Tigers. Off the top of my head Victor Martinez, Joe fucking Crede, Bill Hall...
Jethro34 06-13-2007, 11:32 PM Crede's out for the season, right? (just to shine some nice light after that crappy loss)
Timone 06-14-2007, 01:47 AM Yep.
WTFchris 06-14-2007, 09:04 AM There's always SOMEONE who kills the Tigers. Off the top of my head Victor Martinez, Joe fucking Crede, Bill Hall...
Rodney, Jones, Mesa...
Glenn 06-14-2007, 01:19 PM I just noticed that we have a day game today.
No Polanco. :^(
At least his replacement is hitting .325
No Pudge either (day game after a night game).
I also see Neifi is still in there, any update on Guillen?
WTFchris 06-14-2007, 01:41 PM Nefe played well yesterday. He still sucks at hitting, but he's fielded very well, and also laid down a nice bunt. I still think he sucks, but I can't bag on him for giving it his all.
BTW, they are down 1-0 and they finally got Hall out for the first time all series.
Glenn 06-14-2007, 04:20 PM Damn.
Interesting call by Leyland to let Rabelo hit with the tying run on 3rd in the ninth instead of having Pudge pinch hit.
DrRay11 06-14-2007, 04:21 PM Fuck Monroe, what the hell is the matter with him.
Wizzle 06-14-2007, 04:22 PM pin another L on the bullpen
WTFchris 06-14-2007, 04:23 PM Damn.
Interesting call by Leyland to let Rabelo hit with the tying run on 3rd in the ninth instead of having Pudge pinch hit.
I agree. WTF is that?
And can Monroe not hit a sack fly?
Heck, why not put Polanco in there for Monroe? Omar can move to LF.
Wizzle 06-14-2007, 04:25 PM Damn.
Interesting call by Leyland to let Rabelo hit with the tying run on 3rd in the ninth instead of having Pudge pinch hit.
I was thinking this too, but I guess Leyland really wanted to get him his rest. If they happen to tie the game then you never know how long Pudge would have to play in extra innings.
Timone 06-14-2007, 09:34 PM Fuck Monroe, what the hell is the matter with him.
2nd half of the season just can't come any quicker :(
