Apparently we used up all our offense in the previous two games.

Hopefully Bondo can hold the lead and go all the way.

I don't want to see TJ today.

sheffield... cycle... sheffield... cycle. c'mon, he's got the hard half done with atleast 2 more atbats. dude is asolutely killing it, a cycle would be a nice cherry on top of one hell of a month. anyone still questioning his acquisition?

21 hits for the tigers, and we still have shef getting another chance in the 9th. if im leyland, i tell shef not to stop running tell you get to 2nd, no matter what.

edit: oh yea, tigers dont get to bat in the bottom when theyve already won. what a crappy rule.

21 hits and 15 runs with Maggs resting. Now that's impressive.

I actually like the rule. I'm sure it wouldn't happen that often, but I bet some guys could get hurt in meaningless at bats or fielding. Not to mention you stretch your bullpen even thinner in wasted at bats.

Plus, the batters might be half assing it since the game is won, and screwing their batting averages in the process. My guess is they'd just empty the benches and bat guys who never play. It would be like the last 2 minutes of a blowout in the NBA.

chris, I'm pretty sure b-diddy was being a bit sarcastic.

I took it as serious because guys miss a chance at a cycle based on that rule. Not sure whether he was sarcastic or not.

Another note on not batting in the bottom half of a win, the extreme opposite of half-assing it would be playing balls out, likely viewed as running up the score or trying to show up the other team. That would likely lead to more brawls and suspensions.
