View Full Version : Tigers @ Rangers H1Man 06-05-2007, 09:06 PM Awful start by Nate Robertson. 5 ER without getting a single out. Jethro34 06-05-2007, 09:06 PM I really wish Nate could get someone out. Did he forget the Rangers are currently one of the worst teams in baseball? What's the deal with the Tigers splitting a series with Cleveland (that they really should have taken 3 of 4) but we can't beat the Devil Rays or, most likely tonight, the Rangers? Top of the first we have bases loaded, 1 out and Guillen at the plate. We never score. Bottom of the first Nate is a double shy of giving up the cycle in ONE INNING thanks to a grand slam followed by a triple and doesn't retire a single batter before getting pulled. Fuck a Nate tonight. DrRay11 06-05-2007, 09:07 PM No Kenny, No Bullpen = us giving up more runs and losing more games. I'm not going to get overly concerned until we get our guys back and still are losing games we should win. Jethro34 06-05-2007, 09:07 PM Damn, I must have been starting the exact same thread at the exact same time. Maybe Syndicate can merge them. H1Man 06-05-2007, 09:15 PM Atleast our offense seems to be clicking tonight. H1Man 06-05-2007, 09:17 PM Bases loaded, no out for Polanco. Timone 06-06-2007, 12:24 PM Kind've figured that would happen last night. Tigers blow them out tonight. Glenn 06-06-2007, 12:28 PM Nate is hot garbage right about now. I'm a bit embarrassed that he used to be MyTiger. http://wtfdetroit.com/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=153 WTFchris 06-06-2007, 12:53 PM Hmm, I didn't vote in that. i would have said Polanco or Pudge though. After watching a special on Pudge I really got a sense of how hard he busts his butt to help the team. he does all the little things. Fool 06-06-2007, 01:15 PM Gum time? DrRay11 06-06-2007, 04:10 PM Gum time? Yeah, whatever happened to that? We need to bring it back to reinstill some magic that seems to be missing right now. Timone 06-06-2007, 04:13 PM Too soon I'd say. Wizzle 06-06-2007, 04:36 PM I've seen him break it out a couple times this year, it just hasn't had the same magic though Timone 06-06-2007, 08:35 PM Really how predictable are Sheffield's ABs? Either he's gonna ground out, walk, or hit a homer. Not to say a walk or HR is bad... Timone 06-06-2007, 09:54 PM Well I think our offense is OK. I *LOVE* watching Verlander pitch. WTFchris 06-07-2007, 10:23 AM Yeah, that was a fun game to watch. What a nasty breaking ball he had last night. Started at chest hieght and dropped to their knees. I loved when he picked Sosa off at 2nd. He was freeking standing there clueless. Timone 06-07-2007, 09:15 PM Sheffield HR! Goodness gracious, great balls of fire! H1Man 06-07-2007, 09:37 PM If our offense can sustain this pace (or close to it), we are going to establish a whole slew of new records. Jethro34 06-07-2007, 09:58 PM Well for one, what's going on with Granderson? The last time ANYONE had 20 triples in a season was 2000 when Christian Guzman did it. Here we are on June 7 and Granderson has 12. WTFchris 06-08-2007, 09:38 AM Yeah, he's nuts. Imagine if he learned great base stealing technique (can we bring in Ricky Henderson to coach him there?). darkobetterthanmelo 06-08-2007, 09:49 AM I think his speed is more or less a higher top speed, I don't know if hes a sprinter. He may not be fast from 1st to 2nd, but there is none faster from 1st to 3rd. WTFchris 06-08-2007, 09:51 AM Good point. But you only need good speed to be a great base stealer. You add great technique to good speed and you can get a lot of steals. Great speed and bad technique just gets picked off. |
