MM got shelled game one so we need Chad Durbin to come up big tonight if we want a chance to win the series. He'll face off against Bartolo Colon who's 5-0 since coming off the disabled list with a 3.69 ERA. He's good but definitely beatable. Let's get it going tonight!

Fucking Mesa.

Seriously, the Jose Mesa experiment has failed miserably. Whatever Leyland and Dombrowski were hoping for didn't work, and they need to cut him or send him to AAA immediately. He's so much worse than Jones. He was supposed to be the 7th inning setup guy, and at this point he's, at best, a one out guy. Nothing more will work. Thje only other purpose of having him around is to have another stiff in the bullpen to eat up innins when the team is getting blown out and decides to mail it in, therefore resting the rest of the pen for the next games.

I tell you what, Tim Byrdak was absolutely horrible before this year, coming in with a career ERA of 7-ish, but he's been money so far for Detroit. He's like the anti-Jose Mesa.

BTW, nice work Curtis. Better to give TJ 2 runs than 1. Let's see if he can close the deal.

Everything's going right today. Bondo looks good and healthy, Maggs is 4-4, Carlos has two jacks and 5 RBIs, Polanco tripled, Curtis is 2-4 with a double, Sheff's 2-3 with a Homer and 3 runs, we're up enough that Neifi got in so hopefully Leyland won't start him anytime soon, and even Ernie Harwell's filling in on the broadcast. Can't ask for much more.

They have Mesa on the team so Nefe isn't the worst player on the team.
