This past winter I witnessed one of the greatest sports moments in my life. I'm dead serious when I say that. I said it at the time and I stand by it, it was one of the Top 5 sports moments I have ever seen. This moment was the absolutely LEGENDARY fight between Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. After hearing legend like reviews of this fight, I purchased Corrales vs. Castillo I on iTunes.
I will not give it away, but it was one of the most remarkable fights, finishes, and examples of heart I have ever seen in my life. I would be proud to have 1/4 of the heart of "Chico." For those of you who have a video ipod, you MUST purchase this in the Showtime TV Show library. I promise you, you won't forget it.
So I was shocked today when I turned on Sportscenter to see that Corrales died last night in a motorcycle accident. My jaw dropped to the floor. I couldn't believe it. So sad that somebody so talented could go in such a stupid way. For those of you who have the opportunity to somehow see Chico's legendary fight, you'll realize that the boxing world lost a legend.

A wife that is 6 mos. pregnant + brand new motorcycle that you don't quite know how to operate, but still enjoy driving recklessly = bad news

Amazing how hard some people work to "make it" and then once they have, they throw it all away with stupid decisions.

Hey Tre, I saw the last couple minutes of that fight and it was awesome. I know exactly what you mean about professional athletes. They work so hard but once they've made it they get caught with drugs, shooting instances and never happy with the amount of millions they've made. Aka Ben Wallace. Much love to Ben though.

I'm a big time boxing fan and Chico was a legend. I saw that fight awhile ago and I still get chills thinking about it. Straight up amazing. Much love to the golden gloved assassin.

Which is more dead, Chico or boxing itself?
That may have been a little harsh, but boxing is on life support. They gotta get rid of pay per view.

I seriously don't get why people even ride motorcycles anymore. Yeah, yeah, an entire nation of people will talk about how safe they can be if you know how to ride, but I promise they're retards. I've never seen any reason for one, I've never seen a motorcycle drive by and think the cat was cool. Usually it's a fat old guy or a chick that thinks she has a dick or someone that is overrating themselves big time. I was on the Chicago beltway this weekend and I'm going 80-something (which is simply keeping up with traffic in that stretch) and a crotch rocket passes me on the left hand shoulder like I'm standing still - only to procedd to weave through traffic ahead sure to kill himself someday. Is it one person giving it a bad name? Nope. It's everyone I've ever seen on a motorcycle making it impossible for me to ever see the point. Kellen Winslow, Jay Williams, Ben Roethlesberger, all stories of guys who survived the crap but their careers took a major hit. That's just the obvious list, but there's much more.
As for Chico, Tre showed me the fight months ago and it was easily the tightest fight I had ever seen. When the best the sport can do anymore is produce Mayweather v De La Hoya, it's a joke. I really miss the days of Tyson and Holyfield early in their careers. Riddick Bowe was cool for about 8 days as well.
