The Calgary Flames are a bunch of pussies. You can't play so you go out and break every unwritten rule there is in hockey trying to injure players on the opposing team. I jumped out of my seat on several occations. I was sooo ready to fight sitting in my living room.
That backup goaltender and Jerome better be suspended if the NHL wants to have any credibility at all. And you can call the head coach an absolute bitch too because for these things to happen (putting in a backup goaltender to slash) that starts with him. He either called for it or didn't put an end to it, either way he's a giant pusa.

if i were the wings i'd run the goalie the first opportunity i got. dead serious. that was complete bullshit what they did. their goalie doing what he did was one thing, but for their guys to follow it up with more bullshit was indefensible. last guy on the bench, take out the goalie. thats what i'd do. but then again, im generally petty and small.

Jarome Iginla, Langkow and McLennan should all be suspended for the next game. McLennan should get atleast 25 games.
I wish that the Wings were willing to call up a guy like Bootland and just have him go after Kiprusoff.

Lebda is reportedly concussed from the uppercut that he got from Langkow.

Tre, for once I agree with you. I actually got pumped up enough to go fight those assholes. Fuck them - there has to be at least 2 suspensions for next game.

The play reminded me when John Chaney brought out Nehemiah Washington? to go break someones arm. What a bunch of pussies.

Wow. Iginla is fucking retarded.
"It was really about getting some fights going at that point to keep our energy up and carry some anger into the next game," Iginla said with several new stitches over his left eye. "We're not going away."
In the matchup of the Western Conference's first- and eight-seeded teams, the home team has won each game. The Flames hope the trend continues Sunday night in Game 6.
"I like that we're right back at it," Iginla said.

C'mon guys...
It's the NHL. This stuff has gone on since the league began. Lebda put himself in position to be bitchslapped by Langkow when he rolled him. You make yourself vulnerable, and someone will ream yer ass.
The LAST thing the Wings need to do is react like a bunch of fans and go out there slinging. Babcock needs to corral this team, and keep them focused.
The NHL is NOT going to slam Calgary. It's the playoffs. This is good pub. Street cred. Detroit needs to stay focused, and feed off what happened today.
Gadzooks and Shutterbug clicked, and the whole team looked energized and powerful. The Wings fooled me, I thought they were dead, but they showed something different today, a different gear.
They need to keep on this pace and forget the shit that happened.

the goalie is suspended. thats guaranteed. i cant speak for anything else. you cant just use your stick as weapon (anymore?). not after brashere (sp?... was brasheer the club to the face?).
i agree, the reality is that the wings go out next game and just try to beat them. but i would love to see someone run their goalie.
the reality is hockey is just too violent for me. its why i gravitate to basketball. i remember one play where lindros KO'd konstantinov (#16's last regular season game in philly) and the fans were cheering when vladdy hit the mat. it was disgusting.
