Cross 04-22-2007, 01:37 AM I want the Lakers to win so they can play the Mavs.
and kobe usually ends up dropping 50 on the mavs.
Lakers up 48-39 at the half.
Kobe's got 28 points at the half (11-17 FG). Dayum, the dude's a robot.
I love the Suns in the playoffs, so overrated. I love the people who are like "Suns went to the conference finals the last two years." Yeah, they've won 3 games total in those two trips.
No way Jackson gets another 7 game series verses the Suns and doesn't pull out a series win. I give _'antoni props for having a different basketball philosophy but dude has shown me nothing as far as being an elite in-game or even in-series coach.
Kstat 04-22-2007, 05:22 PM Meanwhile, the "overrated" Suns win...again...
And _Antoni is on his way to knocking Phil Jackson out of the playoffs....again....
this series is over in 4-5 tops. People want to hate on Phoenix, which is fine. But results are what matters, and they have them. LA doesn't.
Assuming Phoenix (which is better than last year) can defeat LA (which is worse than last year) is nothing more than wishful thinking.
Barbosa w/ 26 points off the bench. Add to that Kobe not trusting anyone else in the few minutes (guess you can't really blame him), and the Suns are too much for the Lakers.
The Lakers just don't have enough veteran talent.
Black Dynamite 04-22-2007, 08:27 PM When the suns get knocked out of the Playoffs, then they'll be overrated. But at the moment they are a team thats very capable of beating Dallas and SA in a 7 game series, in fact more capable than any other team in the west not counting Dallas and SA of course.. Nothing overrated about them to me and for the record i hate their wackass soft jumpshot no defense system. Hate that our team adopts it at times too.
b-diddy 04-22-2007, 10:03 PM they can beat dallas, i question whether they can beat san an. tony parker should be able to tear up nash.

And kstat generalizes ... again ... As the team that is so much better than last year struggles with the same team (who is worse than last year apparently) in the same way they did last year.
And exactly what have they “won again”? One game against a team that starts Smush and Mo Evans. I fully expect Jackson to adjust to Barbosa who saved MVP and Amare.
Its no secret that the Kobes are overmatched by the team paying out almost three max contracts but no way this series ends in 4. You've been smokin' too much of Unclebuck's, “There defense is under rated.” Indiana tobacco.
The Suns have beaten one quality team in the playoffs, that being the Mavs two years ago, who had had Avery as coach for about a month.
Kstat 04-22-2007, 10:33 PM You just said there was no way LA doesn't win this series. I'd say its you that need to have your head examined.
"No way" is a bit extreme, I admit.
b-diddy 04-22-2007, 10:46 PM if the series goes seven, i would go with the lakers (again!). but i dont think they can get that far this year. they didnt exactly back into the playoffs, but it wasnt much more than an idle. if they had andy going like he was in feb/march, i would take them all day. as it is, its probably 5 games.
Glenn 04-23-2007, 08:56 AM The Suns are my 2nd favorite team, I think they take this in 5 games.
Kstat 04-24-2007, 11:45 PM Man, are the Lakers ever taking it to those "overrated" Suns now....
b-diddy 04-25-2007, 12:00 AM you did call it. thats fo sho!
Definately a couple of minus points in the credibility score for me. Still doesn't make the Suns not overrated.
Btw, Raja Bell is in complete ownership of Kobe's head. Kobe comes down on basically a one-on-one with Bell and pulls up for a distorted jumper. Farmer comes down on pretty much the same situation and takes it to the lane like Kobe should have and draws the gets the and1.
Kstat 04-29-2007, 06:01 PM Nash is definitely overrated. Only 17 points and 23 assists today.
Nice "gutless" call on pacersdigest btw, I noticed you got off that train pretty quick. Didn't bring it here I see.
And that's exactly what I said. I called Nash specifically overrated.
Kstat 04-29-2007, 06:08 PM The Lakers are pretty gutless. A reflection of their coach, who can't do shit unless he's got the two best players on the floor.
Yeah, 9 rings are nothing compared to "my teams score a shit load of points and get taken to 7 game almost every playoff series I'm in" _'antoni.
Kstat 04-29-2007, 07:12 PM Has your boy Phil even won ONE playoff series when he hasn't had two hall of famers in his lineup?
He can't even beat the overrated Suns that play no defense and are coached by an idiot?
Wow, quality.
1) He's not my boy.
2) You know the answer the first question. Its the same as "how many championships did Micheal and Scottie or Shaq and Kobe win without Smudgy McTriangle?"
3) I'm glad you are starting to come around on the Suns and their coach.
4) 9 Rings are quality.
Uncle Mxy 04-29-2007, 07:21 PM Has your boy Phil even won ONE playoff series when he hasn't had two hall of famers in his lineup?
1994. Only HOF-bound player was Pippen.
I should have been paying attention. I didn't even think about the 2 Jordan-less years.[smilie=llama_banan: (My daughter [smilie=heatsmiley2:is demanding these smilies. They are [smilie=bigshot.gif]meaningless as to the discussion.)
Kstat 04-29-2007, 10:57 PM I should have been paying attention. I didn't even think about the 2 Jordan-less years.
...no, it's sound just as ridiculous, since you seem to think they went TWO playoff seasons without Jordan....
So Phil is what, 1-3 in the playoffs without two hall of famers on his roster? Wow. He's the man. He sure knows how to coach when he doesn't have a massive talent advantage...
Please, it only sounds that way to you since you are grasping for something to make yourself feel better. I said 2 Jordan-less years, not playoffs. I didn't claim that Jackson won any playoff series the second year without Jordan.
You're a joke.
Kstat 04-30-2007, 12:38 AM No way Jackson gets another 7 game series verses the Suns and doesn't pull out a series win.
I really have nothing else to say.
Then again, I don't need to say anything else. That speaks for itself.
b-diddy 04-30-2007, 01:19 AM lol...
Already admitted that "no way' was a bit extreme. Bring it up all you want though, its pretty much the epitome of your persona to do exactly that, I'm not trying to take away your one joy.
Kstat 04-30-2007, 10:40 AM I don't plan on bringing it up outside this thread, but you're damn right you killed yourself here.
http://www.msu.edu/user/socomm/bullseye.gif
I was all over this series.
Kstat 05-03-2007, 11:55 AM me too....
Glenn 05-03-2007, 02:53 PM WTFactoid: Mike D'antoni is now the only coach that has beaten Phil Jackson in the playoffs twice.
Alright. A win in San Antonio seals it. I was definately wrong about the Suns.
