Moving on to the next team.

Big series here. Can Inge get a hit this year?

How will Durbin do?

Can Jones save every Tigers win?

Will Rodney pitch more like he did yesterday, and less like he did in his previous outings?

How many consecutive games will Pudge homer in?

The list of questions goes on.

Baltimore is an interesting foe. They were swept in Minnesota before heading to NY and taking 2 of 3 (would have taken all 3 had they not given up a GW GS to A-Rod).

Which team will we face as they open their season at home? I would like to see our bats heat up in this park. Speaking of heat, it's supposed to be 49 degrees in Baltimore at game time. Perhaps these more reasonable temperatures will help some guys.

Orioles home opener against Durbin.....this one does not set up well

It's only the first inning but Durbin looked pretty good there.

yuck.....this could be a problem. How many starts do we give this guy?

Ouch. Back to middle relief. Ledezma should be the spot starter. (I reserve the right to retract that statement if he has a rough day in relief of Durbin)

Will we ever bring Granderson home after a triple? 0-2 so far in that department this season.

Good bounce back today. Stinking Zumaya screwed up one pitch or else it would have been a shutout.

Prediction: Todd Jones will beat out Nate Robertson for AL Cy Young this year, with Polanco winning the batting title and Granderson winning AL MVP.

Nice win, Nate's on my fantasy squad so I was hoping for the shutout, but I'll take the W.

Jaret Wright actually looked pretty good too, I wonder if the Yanks could have used him?

Early on this year, we're leaving way too many runners on. Need to get a few two out hits with RISP.

Yeah Craig. Nicely done. Now let's close it out and spend the plane ride figuring out how to drive in runs. Playing indoors might provide them enough of a thaw to get their bats together.

By the way, Inge looks competely horrible. The 0-20 was bad enough (he broke the streak with a single in this game). But striking out on 3 pitches in each of his last two AB's tonight. He's horrible right now. So many guys are at this point. Sheffield blew off the spring saying he was right where he wanted to be. Come on. Polanco obviously can't carry the team forever, as evidenced by 0-6 tonight.

Yeah, yeah, we're less than two weeks into the season and it's 162 games. But an April game is worth the same amount of wins as a September game.

Jones has still saved all of the Tigers wins. 5 saves in 8 games. I'm telling you, Cy Young material! He's on pace for 101 saves right now and no earned runs! Now that's productivity!

BOOOOOOM! Last year I wavered a little, but I'm ready to etch it in stone. Craig Monroe is, and always will be.....MY TIGER! :tigers:

hey, what was verlander hitting on the gun? i only saw him pitch the his last game of spring ball, and i honestly thought he looked better than anytime last year, and right now his #'s agree with me. but what i saw was good offspeed stuff. and there was no gun. is he keeping it in the mid to low 90's, or is he dialing up still?

i think i would really help the club if he didt let any earned runs in this year.

He was definitly hitting the upper 90's in this game...

I think it would really help Verlander if the Tigers scored him a run this year haha

Yeah, I saw 97-98 repeatedly. The key for Verlander is the breaking ball. When he gets his good one going it just carves through the zone, keeping hitters off balance. I was afraid he might take a step back this year but so far so good.
