Looks like some season ticket holders skipped on the playoff tickets. You can get lower bowl tickets for the playoffs on ticketmaster if you are willing to pay $120. Anyone remember if they sold out instantly in previous years? Kind of surprised all these tickets are available.

wings game wasn't even sold out last night. I think the economy and people losing jobs is making them think twice about dropping the cash. Also we get spoiled by great teams for many years.

Not to mention that with 3 successful sports franchises, the dollars are getting spread around. How many people are saving up for Tigers tickets that might otherwise would have been spent on the Wings or Pistons?
And of course you have the intellectually challenged Lions fans who fill Ford Field to watch grade school cheerleaders and Rod Marinelli in a catatonic slumber.

I am one of those guys who decided not to get my season tickets for playoffs, for the past 3 years I have, but this year prices are too high. I have 4 seats in the 120 dollar section for first round 80 regular season. 120 for a ticket????? 240 for the game com'mon that's insane.
Also this year is the first year that they are making you put down money on next years season tickets to get this years playoff tickets at a discount price. I think that the palace pissed a lot of people off with that stunt. I am also not renewing any of my tickets next year either, just too expensive.

That is quite a jump of 50%. I checked ticketmaster again this morning and searched for a group of 8 seats in the lower bowl and lo and behold, you can buy them. Also checked the upper bowl and you can buy a group of 12 tickets. Looks like a lot of season ticket holders didn't buy them.

I like the game experience, but if you're going to sit in the nose bleeds I'd rather watch it at home and save the money.

Couldn't agree more, maybe NBA finals upper bowl, but other than that I will not set foot up there.
