Purchased the game a couple days ago. I started a season with the Tigers and Kenny Rogers was the pitcher and he didn't do so hot but I ended up winning 8-7 in the 9th.

Here are some of my thoughts...

I've pitched Zumaya in a couple games and the gun never hits 100. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

The graphics are great but not fluid. For example, I will hit a homerun and then "now loading" will appear on the screen. It does this in between some pitches also. I'm not sure why they can't fix it.

My hitting does not seem realistic. I either hit a homerun or ground/pop out. I've had 10 homeruns in 2 games and most of them have been solo. I'm sure there is a trick to hit it in the gap.

Rating wise I think like a 7.5/10. I haven't played it much but it doesn't jump out at me like nba2k7 in terms of quality. The demo is on xbox live so you can try it. Unfortunately, this is the only baseball game coming out for the 360 this year.

I can't justify getting a game that sounds essentially nearly the same as last year's for sixty big ones. No baseball games this year for me.

Agreed, baseball games haven't changed enough for me to upgrade from MLB 2K1 on dreamcast. One has to really blow me away for that to happen.

I heard its similiar to last years but since I only bought the Xbox in December, this was my first and likely last baseball game for a long time.

It's actually similar to last years game on purpose. Last years game was flat out broken and didn't work. Since then, they hired the developer from EA's MVP series to come in and fix the game. They spent the last year fixing last years debacle, which meant that there wasn't going to be a whole bunch of new features in this years game. Which is fine, because it nned to be fixed.

Also, i've hit 100 on the gun with Zumaya a few times, I've even done it with Verlander.

Is it just me or are the camera angles weird? The camera doesn't even follow the ball sometimes for homeruns. The best baseball game I ever played was High Heat baseball 2000 for the pc. Unfortunately, they don't make the series anymore.

Just to confirm, I hit 101 on the gun with Zumaya a couple times last night while playing a buddy of mine online.

What do you think of the game?

I think it's good, but not the greatest game ever or anything. It does enough to satisfy my baseball urge, even though there's a few too many taters in the game.

I actually play it a bunch, but I've been playing a lot on online. We actually have an 8-team test league running right now and people are participating FOR ONCE!!!! It's just an 8-game league to see how the interest would hold and I think after it's over we are going to expand it by a couple teams and play a longer season.

A couple things bother me about the game, though. There are way too many taters in the game! I hit 7 in one game last night. 7!!! It's like you don't have to manufacture runs and just hit the long ball all game long.

Secondly, I was playing a league game and had a no-hitter with Bonderman through the 8th inninng and then 2K decided to do maintenance on their server! I was pissed and that was the second attempt that night to get our game in.

I'm actually going to fire up MVP 05 for the XBOX and get some current rosters for it, I think. I miss the feel of the MVP series and I don't have a PS2 so The Show is out of the question.
