Sticking with the music angle, these are all 20 years old or close to it too, which is quite frankly, fucked up.

The Land of Rape and Honey by Ministry
Bummed by Happy Mondays
...And Justice For All by Metallica
Rattle and Hum by U2
Danzig (self titled)
It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back by Public Enemy
Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A.
Guns 'N Roses - Appetite For Destruction

How about the fact that the '57 Chevy, the greatest of all American cars, is now 50 years old?
Or does it just have to be about music that nobody will remember?

Glenn
03-13-2007, 04:10 PM
It doesn't have to be about music at all, but that is what prompted the thread.

It's bizarre to think of those albums as being 20 years old.

What is the definition of classic rock? Is it more of an era (late 60's to late 70's?) or does all rock music become "classic rock" once it ages to a certain point?

Same question for "oldies".

Led Zeppelin 1 came out in 1969 (I think), which makes it nearly 40 fucking years old!

Carding someone who was born in 1986 and realizing they are, indeed, now 21.

Yesterday my mom and I went out for lunch, and each ordered a beer. She got carded, I didnt. Not sure what to think about it other than I must look older than a 55 year old woman.

I'll help you all out. In 3 weeks I'll be able to buy alcohol legally. I wasn't alive for the '84 world series. Now how do you feel?

Zip Goshboots

How ironic Zekyl: 1984 was the year I became legally old enough to drink.
Hmm...

Kobe Bryant is a damn punk.

I'm only 19, but talking to my buddies about what we did/what shows we watched as kids makes me feel like I'm getting old.

Hey, I'm 43 and I don't feel bad at all about talking to 18 year old chicks. Keep trying and you'll get over it. Especially if you get a few of them in the sack (preferably at the same time).

LOL. Man Zip you're crazy. For sex, I have a 6 month to a year rule, and since women these days are so impatient it's hard to bag them.

The 2004 and 05 NBA Draft made me feel old too. Those were the 1st years where a high schooler coming out was younger than me. :(

Zip Goshboots
03-13-2007, 11:23 PM
What do you mean by a six month to a one year rule?
I'm hoping you are going to say that you bang them for six months to a year and then move on.

DennyMcLain

I really have no idea what my age is, and I'm not joking.

I literally have to think about it first, and even then I'm usually off by one.

When age no longer matters.... THAT makes me feel old.

Isn't that awkward. My dad is a high school teacher and I'll stop in to see him at work and I'll see a cute girl, then I realize she's 17-18 and I start feeling creepy.

This might help you out:

http://www.rascalscooters.com/scooters/625.shtml (http://www.rascalscooters.com/scooters/625.shtml)

It tops out at 8 MPH, faster than the 5 MPH most go. It also has a range of 30 miles, so you would catch me eventually (unless I step over a curb).

My Father died this year and one of our last conversations was about the time the Lions came back from 14-0 at halftime against the Oakland Raiders. Greg Landry was QB it was also thanksgiving...... anyone else there

Glenn

That might be the last time the Lions came back from 14 down.

Sorry about your dad, sbeach. I dread that day myself.

My best friend has had traces of gray hair since his senior year of high school.

I just started getting a little at the temples about a year ago, but if I keep my hair short, you can hardly see it (not that I care all that much, lol).

Same here... first signs of grey hair (well, more like white hair) at age 18.

If I get my hair cut shorter, it actually seems whiter. Not that it stops me from getting haircuts... speaking of which, I should probably do that today.

Glenn
03-14-2007, 11:14 AM
I debated "gray" or "grey".

Since Mxy went with "grey", I'm guessing that I choose poorly.

Half your age +7 and up. It's all fair game.

24 - 19
26 - 20
28 - 21
30 - 22

And for Goshboots, 56 - 35 :)

Glenn:
cereal companies were going BROKE! I mean, YOU try getting by on selling 10 millions boxes of Fruit Loops for $4.50 each, man!
That .072 cents they save on every box by not putting the secret decoder ring in it goes a long way!

Uber, I was just going to give that 1/2 Age + 7 rule - it works like a charm.

I know I'm old when I'm turning 30 this weekend and my wife is 25 and she doesn't remember the Challenger blowing up.

UGH. That's not due to old age. That's due to laziness or sheer stupidity. That was bottom basement crap even for Microsoft, and that's saying something.

The older the computer, the better the argument for Win2k over XP. Win2k wasn't/isn't crap for a lot of people, which is why M$ was forced to extend security support on it until 2010.

Actually I think W2k is probably the best operating system Microsoft ever released. I earned my tech support wings on Windows NT, so believe me, W2k was a HUGE improvement. Windows XP is full of too many annoying naggers and stupid interface widgets, and there's almost no difference under the hood between XP and W2k.

The only thing that makes me feel old these days is looking around at how much western Wayne County has changed since I was a kid. Shit, Livonia used to be mostly dirt roads and woods, not to mention Canton...
