View Full Version : Who should the Pistons target with their 2007 draft picks?
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 08:44 AM No. If Law is there I take him. Then I use the 27 pick on Fazekus or another big man. Address the backup wing with the MLE (and also use the 2nd rounder on one).
What they don't mention is what Atlanta does at #11 if they keep the picks. I think they take Jarvis there. if so, then would the Clippers pass on Law? I doubt it.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 08:58 AM Do you guys think that the Pistons go foreign no matter what with #57 to try and avoid the tax or do you think they'd rather take a American player that can go directly to the NBDL?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:59 AM They're going foreign. A RONZONE SPECIAL!
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 09:55 AM It depends on who they get in the first round. Suppose they get Thad Young and a big man. i would see them taking another flier on PG. If they address PG and a big in the first round, I see them taking a Ronzone special knowing they can address backup SF with the MLE.
Cross 06-28-2007, 09:57 AM Obviously 2nd round point guards aren't the answer for us...:emo kid:
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 10:00 AM That is because we take big school college PG's that all had huge flaws. If you take a small school PG he still has a lot of time to improve his game. There's a better chance that he hasn't fully developed yet, where as a guy like Blaylock is probably not going to get much better than he was in college.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 10:04 AM There aren't any high school players, dude.

Damn, where has my brain been? I forgot C/S fullerton was a college. I was thinking HS for some reason. Couldn't you conievibly have a HS player in the draft though? It's an age limit, not college requirement. If you flunked a few years you could be 21 in high school. lol

My mockery draft will be in the paper tomorrow (today) . I will just tell you this, if Nick Young falls to 15, the Pistons will be delighted. If not, they are hoping Rodney Stuckey is on the board (though he could be gone, too). If Stuckey and Young are gone by 15, the Pistons will be scrambling a bit (Thaddeus Young, Julian Wright, Jason Smith or maybe one of the point guards like Javaris Crittenton might be thier fallback pick).
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 11:59 AM If they take Nick Young, what does he back up? He sounds like a RIP clone. They'd have no backup SF or PG again and still need a center. I don't understand Nick Young unless they are going to move RIP for a big man. Stuckey can play some point, Thad and Wright can backup Tay.
EDIT- Reading some more into him, it looks like he can probably backup Tay. They say he has almost a 7 foot wingspan and he is 6'6" barefoot. But I still don't know what we do at Center or PG.
it'd be interesting if Acie Law does fall to #15.
we could then push hard for Grant Hill and he can play back up SG/SF, about 20-25 min per game. Acie would replace Lindsey and be Chauncey's full time back up.
defrocked 06-28-2007, 12:16 PM I'd be giddy if that happened, but then again, I wanted to draft Dickau over Tayshaun.
Glenn 06-30-2007, 08:50 PM I just browsed an article from SI.com that informed me that Spencer Hawes is a huge Rush Limbaugh fan who believes that global warming doesn't exist, actually, it's "all lies".
Whew.
