I like the signing. The guy is coming home with something to prove. It's only a one year deal for less that two million and the guy is only 26. With having so many question marks at the running back spot (due to injuries) we now have Bell and Duckett to help carry the load.

I agree, but I have to see how much we signed the guy for.

Not bad, just keep him away from the Ionia Free Fair.

How are we planning on carrying so many running backs? We'll have to go short on another position if we want to keep all of these guys, unless we think we can move one of them later in the preseason.

This is a great move. Duckett was 3rd string in Washington and now he is probably second string in Detroit. Shades of Artose Pinner. [smilie=TD Lions]

i think we are cleaning some house at running back this offseason. whether it be trading the recently acquired bell or getting rid of bryson or calhoun it will happen. i think bryson will be weeded out. the guy has had way too many knee problems.

In watching the NFL Network, they were talking about the Lions and said that getting Bell and Duckett were great moves. They feel that both of them will fit into the Martz system very well. Bryson and Cason are the odd men out and may be cut.

I guess I like the move, but only because the small amount of money. Problem is that neither of those backs play special teams, so whoever you cut will be lost there. Probably Cason I'm sure.

I am very excited about the move. I think Duckett will be a great back for the Lions. Fuck all those other backs outside of Bell, get rid of them. I like the idea of Bell for speed and Duckett for power. Good move by the Lions.

Sounds like Dunn and Alstot, and Dunn and Duckett.

Well, Atl led the league in rushing with the Dunn/Duckett combo so I'll take it.

Well, remember those are the backups too. We have a feature back in KJ (assuming he's healthy eventually).

Can anyone even remotely associated with the Detroit Lions be mentioned in the same sentence with the word "feature"?

Matt Millen is the NFL's feature idiot.

I think the league should null this contract because Duckett has not played under Martz or Marinelli.
