I didn't know where to put this, but since this game is filled with players that are going to be playing college ball soon enough I thought I would throw it in here. I was all set to go to the game tomorrow night (Friday) at Heritage High School and so I called Arthur Hill this morning to find out that tickets would go on sale at 5:30 at Da Hill and 5:00 at Da High. I went over to Arthur Hill at 4:45 to find about 15 people standing around and I was all excited and when I walked up to the door I overheard everyone bitching that all 1800 tickets had been sold out already. During this time another 100 or so people showed up and we got into a big discussion about where the tickets all went. Everyone sort of assumed that the tickets had been bought up by the students (although they were only allowed 1 per student per Heritage's AD). I got an email from the AD at Heritage that stated nobody would even be allowed on campus w/o a ticket. This means that if there is a car with 5 people and only 4 have tickets they would have to kick someone out of the car before they come into the parking lot. So I'm assuming the students bought the tickets maybe looking to resell them, but they will have to sell them before the game so I am pissed that I might not get tickets (although I'm still trying).

But on to the game. In the first game Arthur Hill defeated Saginaw High and I believe at the time Saginaw High was undefeated and the teams were ranked 1 and 2 in the state. The teams matchup up pretty well with each other, but Saginaw High does have a slight height advantage over Arthur Hill. In the second contest Saginaw High got their starting PG back and Dar Tucker was returning from an injury. This game is always a highly contested game and the winner of this game will be considered the "favorite" to win the State title as many consider this game to be one of the hardest on the run to the title. I really hope I get tickets to watch this third installment of a magical rivalry. I think that this game will be extremely fun to watch and will come down to the wire, but I expect Arthur Hill to pull away late and win the game.

Filly prediction -- AH - 76 SH - 71

Dar Tucker -- 24 pts, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks

Latreze Mushatt -- 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals

Filly, I was there dogg and it was hott......kinda. The atmosphere was unbelievable and electric and the place was absolutely packed. I was actually sitting next to the legendary Mark Macon! But, before you knew it, The High was up 20-0! Southern and Green weren't even doing any damage either. The High's press was killing AH and they must have had close to 15 turnovers in the first quarter! Their top scorer was this little #20 cat with a smooth J. He hit 4 3's in the first quarter and had 20 at the half.

Dar ended up with some nice numbers, but it all came waaaay too late.

As for Southern and Green, they were both in killer foul trouble. Green missed most of the first half picking up 3 quick fouls and a 4th early in the 3rd quarter. Southern picked up #3 mid 3rd and #4 early in the 4th. It was hard to judge because they weren't on the floor too long, but I can tell you right now that Josh Southern is not going to much of anything on the next level. He's really just big, not very athletic, with minimal post moves. I see him strugg-a-ling at BC. Green looked a little better, but I'm not sure if he's a Kentucky type player as of right now. I think he will eventually be something special down the road. Right now, he's a junior with a little baby fat still on him, but he's got a smooth J and some athleticism.

Overall, it was a great experience, but I wish the game would have been tighter.

Is Macon still working for Temple?

Is Macon still working for Temple?

I looked him up and apparently he's an assistant coach for Georgia State. Wow.

Green is a 3 star kind of guy. From what I've seen, he won't be anything special and he shouldn't be going to Kentucky unless he's a plan B recruit.

He's the High's best player, but him going to Kentucky is a product of Tubby and his fall at UK.
