View Full Version : Let's Liven This Forum Up A Little
Zip Goshboots 03-05-2007, 10:56 PM Does WTF stand for Where's the Fucking Posters?
Come on guys and gals: This thing is just a little more than TOO FUCKING DEAD most of the time.
I'd like to see alot more posting. Don;t give me this "working" or "schooling" bullshit.
Don't give me this "I don't have nuttin to say" bullshit.
I'm getting sick of seeing hours upon hours in between posts.
Let's have a little conversation people!
I was taking a nap. Is it OK to not post when unconscious?
Train Wreck 03-06-2007, 02:43 AM Hi
MikeMyers 03-06-2007, 08:22 AM I try to post as much as I can.
MoTown 03-06-2007, 08:23 AM Music videos ruined music.
Glenn 03-06-2007, 09:01 AM Zip,
Bring some people over from your old place.
You did a nice job with HipDigIt, now bring about 100 more.
I'm sure you have a lot of lots of followers out there looking for your whereabouts.
Zip Goshboots 03-06-2007, 09:11 AM Oh, they're looking for me all right...
Zip Goshboots 03-06-2007, 09:20 AM Glenn:
You make a good point about the "old place", but ask UberAlles. He's come over from there, and the reason people like that place is because the moderators are pussies who respond whenever someone complains to them.
trust me, you don't want 99% of the posters from the Detroit News.
i figured HipDigit would add Mad Skillz to this board, first, because this is a pretty solid board, second because he can write, and third because he actually has a set of balls (not that I've checked or anything).
Those guys over there wouldn't know what to do if someone told them to F*** off and they couldn't complain to Daddy Moderator about it.
bangpow 03-06-2007, 01:21 PM What was the "old place"??
Zip Goshboots 03-06-2007, 01:24 PM The Detroit News Online Forums, particularly "Big 10 Talk".
Check it out, but don't bother. If you have a brain cell (it doesn't even have to be fully functional), an ounce of integrity, and are not a self righteous hypocrite, and are not a bible thumper, you won't like it there.
bangpow 03-06-2007, 01:50 PM How the hell do you post there? It's soo confusing.
Zip Goshboots 03-06-2007, 01:58 PM Well, it's like any forum, bangpow. You go to the top of the forum, click on the "post a comment" dealy, then you have to register.
I'd say read it for a couple days, then try to get on.
bangpow 03-06-2007, 02:03 PM I understand how it works, I just think it's confusing to where it's not a forum like the rest of them are. It's almost like a list of blogs.
Vinny 03-06-2007, 02:24 PM Agreed, I hate the News forums and ones like it. MLive confuses the hell out of me too.
DrRay11 03-06-2007, 03:41 PM I think Zip may just be a little resistant to change (you could say the same for us), but I like my organization. I've seen these other forums, and they scare the bejeezus out of me. When I and others love it the way it is, I see no need for change.
I do agree there could be a few more topics, though.
Zip Goshboots 03-06-2007, 03:50 PM That's something I thought about e-ray, especially after all the guys disagreed with me on the thread issue.
I took a good look at myself in the mirror and thought, "Zip, what IS it with your reluctance to accept threads? Get over yourself"
Really, e-ray, the way this board runs the threads is head and shoulders above every other forum I've seen due to the fact that when you click into a thread, you see all the posts. It's actually very well organized, and if it works for everyone else, then I'll just have to get in the flow!
As for the comparison to the News boards, yes, it's one big posting page, and the "blog" comment is dead on. The Big 10 board has about 5-10 regular posters, and is notorious for guys posting under multiple handles (which I did, by the way, and had fun doing it). That's one thing their format can lead to: Guys see the same shit by the same people every day so they re-register under a different handle and try to do something different, even argue with themselves out of boredom.
It's a board you HAVE to keep up with, because of the lack of threads, actually, or you get too far behind and say "Forget this".
It is good for the guy with a little too much time on his hands, or who has a computer handy at work, or in prison, though.
Zip Goshboots 03-23-2007, 12:57 AM Dear WTF Detroit Forum:
Big games all over the country going on. All kinds of sports action, and fun to be had. It's Thursday, so we know you all aren;t out getting drunk.
But MAN! You guys are boring! No action on this forum tonight!
We're used to some excitement, but you guys just can't deliver any energy!
Sincerely,
The Amish

Maybe it's time for a new regime to counter The Syndicate and re-invigorate this place with ACTION®.
I nominate Zip Goshboots to lead the revolt.
Go get 'em, Zip.
Zip Goshboots 03-23-2007, 01:20 AM I won't do it without finding out how to do that R-circle thing first.

Actually, I did have a good night of drinking. I just carried two drunk friends home, and I am now posting from a laptop next to a female friend who has her head hanging over the toilet. Dedication, gentlemen, dedication.
MikeMyers 03-23-2007, 09:32 AM Maybe send a mass email to all the members to remind them of the site. It says that 538 people registered.
