Izzo said a few weeks ago that the coaches in the Big Ten were very against the BT tournament when it was presented to them. They were against it because it would tire their players prior to the Big Dance and it would completely mess up the regular season schedule.

Izzo said that Bobby Knight went off about the tournament being a bad idea and he was very Bobby Knight about it. He said that the only reason the Big Ten committee decided to have the tournament with nearly everyone opposed to it, was that they refused to let Knight run the league. They started it in spite of him.

Regardless, it should be a fun tourney this year. I could see a few upsets sprouting.

I am watching the U of and Minny right now online in case you are stuck at work too. It's on ESPN 360.

I'm watching it on ESPN2 and I seriously want to puke watching it..........BUT it would be tough to play this bad again tomorrow so maybe its a good thing to get it out of our system against Minny so we can beat tO$U..........OR we could just lose and Tommy would be gone...........its like a WIN-WIN for us right now as Michigan fans!!!

Good win by the Sparties. I think they got the best draw in the BT tourney with Wisconsin losing Butch two weeks ago. I think if Wisconsin needs a last second 3 to win at home they are in trouble on a neutral site. Michigan State is healthy (per "the mouth") and I expect Drew Neitzel and Goran Suton to have big games tomorrow.

I think MSU loses a close one. I would take them over Wisky, but they had to play yesterday and that wears a team down. Wisky has been getting ready and resting. I hope they take them down though, I think MSU is better than Wisconsin.
