Sixers deal F Henderson to Jazz
February 22, 2007
PHILADELPHIA (TICKER) -- The Philadelphia 76ers got rid of an expiring contract Thursday, trading veteran forward Alan Henderson to the Utah Jazz.
The teams exchanged second-round picks, and the Jazz also received cash considerations.
Often glued to the end of the Sixers' bench, Henderson was in the final year of a contract paying him $1.178 million. He has appeared in 34 games, averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds.
"This move gives us increased flexibility and provides us with additional options on draft day," Sixers president Billy King.
A 12-year veteran, the 6-9 Henderson has career averages of 7.9 points and 5.0 rebounds in 648 games. He also has played with Atlanta, Dallas and Cleveland.
