Has anyone been watching him play? He looks pretty darn good. It's too bad he's 0-5 with the Wings. He looked great last night in a 1-0 loss. The only goal he let in was a fluke. He deserved a win. I hope he gets more starts as the season winds down. Hasek is doing great, but we don't want to wear him out.

Red Wings hockey is a playoff thing. If they make it past the first round this season there may be a few more posters. It's like we love our basketball team, we're excited about our baseball team, we torture ourselves with our football team, we stay busy with our college affiliations, and our hockey team is like an after-dinner mint. We can afford fairweatherness with it. They're good enough that we can take them for granted during the regular season.

Hoorayyyyy for Joey!!! Joey is going to get his first win tonight against those pesky Flames. Didn't require too much work as the Wings outshot their opponent for the 1,487,462nd time and Joey was given a big cushion to work with. Here is to Joey's first of many W's in the NHL...........GO JOEY!!!

It used to be that way somewhat with me too. Sure, I watched the regular season (unless the Pistons overlapped with them that night), but after a couple cups you get spoiled. You just wait for the post season. After the last couple years of aging teams though, it's different now. They have done much of what the Tigers did the last couple years. They played their young guys, took their lumps, and now they are thriving with a lot younger team. They are much more exciting now than the last 5 years or so. Even more so than when we had Hull and Shanny out there, IMO. Hank and Pavel remind me of when Federov, Kozlov and Igor used to cycle around. The moves they make are amazing sometimes. Aside from Cheli, our D is very young and speedy too. There is a lot to get excited about with this team, it's too bad a lot of people have gotten so spoiled watching them.

But, I can understand your view. I was the same way the last couple years. I find it very entertaining this year though.

Didn't watch the game last night, anybody see it? Did Joey play that bad or was it the D's fault?

It was 1-1 in the 3rd I believe and then the flood gates opened. I only caught the wrap up on the radio as I was leaving class.

I think it was 3-1 at the end of the second. I listened to it on the way to my football game. the 3rd goal came 1 minute after the second one and was a 5-3 PP goal for Philly. I didn't hear/see the third period.

Clearly I was paying attention to the road more so than the game.

Bruins claim goalie MacDonald off waivers

The Boston Bruins added some goaltending depth on Saturday, claiming Joey MacDonald off waivers from the Detroit Red Wings.

The move will create about $117,000 in salary cap room for the Wings, who are reportedly trying to land a top-six forward by Tuesday's 3pm et trade deadline.

MacDonald is 1-5-1 this season with a 3.46 goals-against average and .872 save percentage.
