It looks like 2K FINALLY came out with the goods regarding a football game. It's supposed to be out this summer! I can't wait.

MikeMyers 01-31-2007, 12:17 PM I'm pretty sure that they can't use real nfl teams/players.
Moodini31 01-31-2007, 12:19 PM I'm pretty sure that they can't use real nfl teams/players.
They can't. EA and Madden locked up an exclusive deal with the NFL and the NFLPA for mega-millions 2 years ago.
Remember when that was the norm in video game? When almost none of them, or none of the good ones, used guys with real names.
MikeMyers 01-31-2007, 12:34 PM They didn't have the names but they had similiar type players. For example, on double dribble on the nintendo, they had a "23" who played on Chicago and he was the best. It wasn't a coincidence.
You don't think this game will do the same?
bangpow 01-31-2007, 01:02 PM From what it sounds like, it's going to have a bunch of customization options. Like how you can name players in the NCAA games, but I'm sure the editing options for teams will be pretty robust so you can essentially make it an NFL clone.
I'm sure it will take almost minutes to find a save that's done the hard work for you.
DrRay11 01-31-2007, 03:01 PM How do you transport it to your Xbox though?
bangpow 01-31-2007, 03:09 PM They make a device for the regular XBOX called the "Action Replay" where it docks to your computer via USB and you plug your memory card to it.
For the 360, it's called the "XChange 360", which is the same kind of thing for 360 memory cards. Those devices are KEY for gaming, especially when it comes to NCAA games.

Yeah, but you won't be able to have real NFL teams and stadiums, so that will suck.
DrRay11 02-01-2007, 10:47 PM Editable teams, perhaps. Stadiums will just have to suffer.
bangpow 02-02-2007, 08:54 AM Yeah, but you won't be able to have real NFL teams and stadiums, so that will suck.
As long as the gameplay is solid and we can get the teams to look like the NFL counterparts, I won't have a problem with it. You bet your ass there are some hardcore 2K fans who will probably go nuts with the customization and will probably make it pretty solid.
As it stands now, we have a football game with all the licenses and it sucks dick and is virtually unplayable.
MikeMyers 02-03-2007, 05:46 PM I have to agree with Madden going downhill. What finally did it for me was the kicking and that stupid pass radar thing. Haven't touched it since.
