View Full Version : The Official JS & Matt Appreciation Thread
MoTown 01-30-2007, 09:58 AM I figured I might as well get a little love going for these two. The work they have done in the NBA forum as well as other forums have been nothing short of amazing. I don't want them to think we're taking them for granted, because the amount of work they put into the site does not go unnoticed.
JS - That NBA and Pistons rumor page is amazing. To be honest, that's the best rumor page on the internet - it sure as hell puts the ESPN one to shame. I think it's become one of the best features on the site, and we always have a ton of guests viewing it.
Matt - This site wouldn't be running if it wasn't for Matt.. Whenever there's a suggestion, he's on it. If there's one person that pours his heart into making this site the best Pistons Website on the internet, it's Matt. The ideas and creations he has are awesome, and this site will continue to improve as long as he's here.
I just wanted to get a little love for these guys on here, and I know there are many other posters that make the site a better place. I just figured I'd throw Matt and JS out there because of the exceptional work that they have done. So show them some love.
Glenn 01-30-2007, 10:32 AM Well said and very true.
They're both working on additional new features that will be unveiled soon, too.
Some good stuff is coming.

Agreed. My laziness compared to their dutifulness is astounding. Thanks for all the work guys.
Thanks Motown, but the credit goes to others. Matt, Glenn and Pharoah have been great sounding boards for ideas. Matt and Glenn are the guys who deserve credit for putting up with my lack of technical knowledge and constant PM's, they are the guys that have done most of the upgrading.
As stated by Glenn there is a lot of exciting change arriving shortly. Hopefully that will be recieved just as well if not more. So plase stay tuned.
Also since we are on the topic, if anyone has suggestions for things they would like to see, feel free to PM us. We are open to suggestions. In terms of the Rumor Mill the same thing is true, if anyone would like to see more let me know or if you see rumors that I have missed and should list please PM me. I need to thank Cross for sending me links.
MoTown 01-30-2007, 12:26 PM Maybe we should have this be like an awards nomination thread. I think the Syndicate in general has done a great job (Including Glenn). I just figured I would single you two out with the recent work you guys have put in.
WTF has grown so much since it started 2 years ago, and I'm just expressing how impressed I am with it.
hey now, Glenn deserves a lot of love too.......he's like Rip Hamilton. quietly puts up 20 a night without breaking a sweat. night in, night out our most reliable shooter.
Glenn's the most underrated scorer in the NBA.

Glenn 01-30-2007, 12:33 PM A CIRCLE JERK THREAD!!!!
YAY!!!
alsothanks
WTFchris 01-30-2007, 12:56 PM Earl Watson deserves a lot of love too, or Glenn would have nothing to talk about on here.
Sorry, had to bust your chops. (also, you can bust my chops for all my Battier deals over the years).
MoTown 01-30-2007, 01:03 PM I was actually counting on the over/under for the first reference to a circle jerk at 3 posts.
I'm disappointed, Glenn.
Glenn 01-30-2007, 01:14 PM I was actually counting on the over/under for the first reference to a circle jerk at 3 posts.
I'm disappointed, Glenn.
Well, we don't want that!

MoTown 01-30-2007, 01:31 PM And I'm off to make my official "Glenn Appreciation Thread!"
Matt is who got me onto this site, so I love him for that. Originally I was just in the chat and he sent my Skype feeds of games. I wasnt much into forums then but almost a thousand posts later Im thankful. All the Syndicate is pretty awesome in my book, probably the best run site of anything I go to.
RegicideGreg 01-30-2007, 01:37 PM http://trunkguy.com/images/music/prince1.jpg
I tip my hat to JS and Matt
Glenn 01-30-2007, 01:40 PM There's been a few other small upgrades that the fellas have done that are worth mentioning, too.
The stickied threads are now shaded so they are easier to differentiate from the regular threads.
A forum "spammer blocker" was installed about two weeks ago, and since then, I don't recall seeing a single one of those accounts opened. That was getting really bad too.
The addition of the vBookie/Sportsbook has been pretty popular.
The home page was redesigned a little bit. (We're looking at doing some additional changes there soon, too).
The RSS news feeds were added on the homepage, and I've been using them every day. Hopefully some of you have checked those out.
We switched the site hosting company about 6 months ago, many of you will recall that we were experiencing a lot of downtime, but it's been nearly 100% up since the switch. (KOW)
The Pistons schedule page was posted in the NBA forum with links to OGTS, videos and more.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, that is just off the top of my head. Hopefully you guys are enjoying the site. We're enjoying making improvements and adding new members, we're really hoping to bring in a lot more this year.
As mentioned before, we've got a lot more improvements in the works.
Tahoe 01-30-2007, 02:02 PM Definately props to all. Thanks to whomever makes the OGT's too. I would not want that job.
Cross 02-01-2007, 04:32 AM Much thanks to everyone on this board.
I spend alot of time at this place and it's always fun.
Black Dynamite 02-04-2007, 09:19 AM i'm late, but just as thankful as everyone else if not more to Matt & JS. big time thanks for all you two have done for this site.
Pharaoh 02-07-2007, 05:39 AM I'm very late but obviously very thankful that Matt and JS are part of the WTF family.
Wizzle 02-10-2007, 09:25 AM Pistons.com tries to corner Piston information market
In a growing trend among professional sports teams, the Detroit Pistons are trying to become the number one source of information related to their team.
February 8, Oakland Business Review: In the past, freelance writers and public relations staff members were responsible for writing the content. Now, the organization has turned to veteran journalists and well-known personalities, such as Langlois and broadcaster Eli Zaret, to write for Pistons.com
"The bottom line is we want to become everyone's main news source for the Pistons," Wieme said. "We don't want people going to ESPN.com or NBA.com, or even the local papers, and getting better information than they can get at Pistons.com."
Similar changes will be made to DetroitShock.com and Palacenet.com, Wieme said.
good job guys, I think you have them worried
UberAlles 02-10-2007, 04:08 PM I think Matt is just scrumptious.
(that should get rid of the annoying nag message...)
