I'm not real optimistic about the outcome of this game. The Spartans don't have enough guards (yet) to hang with OSU. The Ohio State style of play will wear down MSU since they have little depth.

In addition, this game is on the road for MSU and that is always extremely tough in the BT.

But, ESPN is hyping this with commercials, GameDay will be there, more national coverage for the 17-4 Spartans. I'm feeling that. Probably a blowout, but I'll still be rooting on the boys and hoping for the best.

Go State!!!

Best part is we'll be well under the radar in the pregame with the Oden, Cook, on-campus man love. Then when the game begins the announcers will have to follow up with all of it again. If we're still in it at the half it will be a David-Goliath angle despite the relatively close records. Good sparty pub.

MSU will lose, how close the game is will depend on the Buckeyes. OSU will shoot much better from behind the arc if they focus on feeding Oden first and letting him attack or kick out. Too often have I seen Oden disappear because nobody will give him the ball. If that happens on Saturday the Spartans should keep the game close, but ultimately I see a loss w/ the game being in Columbus.

With a lot of people tuning in to watch Oden, a close game would really help MSU I think. Hopefully they can pull the upset. BTW, you might want to have the date/time in your first post Tre for those who don't know.

Saturday at 9:00. Weird time for a game like this. Usually big games are on in the afternoon on Saturday.

Tell me about it. This 9:00pm tip-off is really infringing on my bar festivities.

Oh well, I'll either have to just wait till 11:00 to get my bar drink on or I'll have to leave the house early and watch the game at the bar. Either way, my ass is going to be glued to the chair watching this game!

You know, I sort of like this situation. Normally I want State to be the giant on top of the hill, but I've accepted the situation for one year. Nobody in their right mind is going to pick State or give them a shot on the road against the #5 team in the country. I like that. If they lose, sucks...but no biggie. I'll take 17-5. So I'm not sweating it. If they somehow pull off the monumental upset, I'll be dancing around all week long and everybody will then be talking Spartans.

Man, I just can't get over how much of a legendary win this would have been for the Spartans last night. Down 20, "Lights Out" puts the offense on his back and the defense locks down OSU, and they get two chances to win it?! This win would have been monumental.

BUT, this performance by the Spartans says a lot. They are not only a scary threat for the National Championship next year, they are legit this year. The win would have been terrific, but I gotta give it up to the Spartans for their heart.

The GameDay crew last night said that Drew Neitzel is not only the Big Ten Player of the Year, but this year's National MVP!!!!! YOU GOTTA FEEL IT!

OK, OK, easy playas. I thought Alando Tucker was everybody's player of the year in the Big Ten and nationally?

I did catch the last few minutes of the game, and I have to give the Spartans credit. I can't say enough about how tough and well-coached they are. You can just see it on the floor, with their hustle, intensity, and scheme. Major dap. Watching Michigan basketball and MSU basketball is like night and day.

Couldn't have said it better. Tommy should show his team film of MSU and then kick every one of them in the face and ask them if they know what pride looks like yet.

I'm not saying I necessarily agree with the "national" thing in regards to Neitzel, I was just passing on their opinions.

I appreciate the MSU love though.

Is anybody going to see the film 300? I think it's about 300 spartans up against impossible odds.

Izzo should use it as a motivation tool to wipe out Wisconsin TWICE (he'd have to get an advance copy first... I guess he can show the trailer).

The movie looks sweet. Can't wait to check it out. 300 Spartans taking on thousands, freaking awesome.

There have been some great movies made about Spartans, doesn't get any better than Troy.

300 will blow Troy out of the water. There's no better story of Spartan valour and courage than the Battle of Thermopylae.

Ick! That movie is about Spartans? I was super-hyped. What a buzzkill. I'll still be seeing it ASAP though.
