Who breaks the most stories? (nationally)
I just gave this some quick thought and I think I'd have to say Marc Stein, believe it or not.
Maybe even Pete Vecsey.

Stein is my favorite. However Vecsey in the past 2 or 3 years has become a lot more reporter and less of a story himself. I don't mind Bucher but he cowers too much and David Aldridge doesn't do enough anymore.
The reason I like both Vecsey and Stein is because they are true to what really happens in the NBA. GM's act like they only talk to other teams 2 or three times a year when in fact they are in constant contact with other teams. So a lot of times it seems like they are just tossing things out there for teams to deny or to make up a story but in fact they did hear it but teams go into spin mode. So the bottom line to me is Stein and Vecsey are better at letting the typical fan in on what the NBA is like.

haha. I like how he said Toronto would have been better off trading their pick to Seattle for vets instead of drafting Bosh.
He was dead on with this one though:
Kyle Korver may be one of the better shooters in the draft, but he can't create his own shoot and can't play a lick of defense.

This is my favorite one.
New York Knicks
Round 1: Mike Sweetney, F, Georgetown (No. 9)
Round 2: Maciej Lampe, F, Poland (No. 30)
Round 2: Slavko Vranes, F, Serbia-Montenegro (No. 39)
Drafting Sweetney, another undersized power forward on a team filled with them gets a C, even if we do like the Georgetown product. But landing the other guy you thought about taking at No. 9, Maciej Lampe, was a huge draft steal. I've seen Lampe play enough to know that his slide wasn't warranted. Lots of teams dropped the ball on him. If he can work out his contract issues with Real Madrid, he'll make Knicks fans happy. Slavko Vranes, at 7-foot-6, is the perfect round two gamble.
Grade: A-
I forgot that the Spurs actually drafted Barbosa. I suppose this proves that RC Buford isn't perfect after all.
San Antonio Spurs
Deals: Traded Leandrinho Barbosa (No. 28) to Phoenix for future first-round selection
They traded their only pick to Phoenix for a future pick.
Grade: Incomplete

What makes it better is that they pick that the Spurs got for Barbosa turned out to be David Lee. They traded the pick that became Lee to the Knicks as part of the NAZR MOHAMMED deal.

Could you imagine if NY never made that deal. The Knicks would be even worse right now.
