View Full Version : Zelda: Twilight Princess
Moodini31 01-21-2007, 11:36 PM OK, this might sound a little gay and nerdish, but I'm really pissed off and frustrated right now. I'm about 19 hours in, and I think I might have to start all the way over. I'm Wolf-Link and I'm taking out the insects for the 3rd light spirit in the Lanayru Province. There were some insects to take out at Lake Hylia, but before I took them out, I howled and hopped on this huge bird thing, which took me to another place. I need to get back to the lake, but I can't find any way possible. The cave that I flew through is now frozen shut, there's a river leading there, but it's blocked off by a gate, I tried to jump off the bridge (how I got there the first time), but there are no boxes to jump on this time and I can't get high enough. The walkthrough I found just says to warp there, but warping there is not an option for me either. I can warp close to it, but can't get to the lake! I can walk to the bridge and I'm able to howl to call the bird thing back, but I do it and it says "Nothing happened." There is no way to get back to the damn lake! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Is anyone playing this game, or know of anyone playing that could help me out, I don't want to start all the way over. UGH!
Try shaking the controller more.
Naw, sorry man I hope you didn't unwittingly screw yourself and I've got no help for you. Redoing 19 hours can definately sour your view of a game. My brother got to the final battle in FF3 back in the day and the system gliched and not only turned off but erased his game. Needless to say he doesn't think highly of the game (and actually never played another FF or RPG again).
b-diddy 01-22-2007, 01:06 AM if your still in the lake hylia area, im guessing your north in the fish people region, you can still swim back to the lake, i believe. one route is gated off, but you can also swim/walk in the southern more route that is right by the gated one.
im not 100% on this, but im pretty sure. i'll check tomorrow. but i wouldnt restart, the gathering of those bug things is too tedious to go through again.
darkobetterthanmelo 01-22-2007, 07:53 AM i had your exact same problem. there might be a house on the south side of the top side of the lake, try asking the dude if you can fly down or something.
darkobetterthanmelo 01-22-2007, 08:48 PM if that first idea doesnt work, try going out the south door of the castle and then jump into the river.
Moodini31 01-22-2007, 09:08 PM Super sweet! Problem solved! I went to that house at the bottom of the river and crossed the bridge to get to the other side of the river and there were some reeds and I was able to howl and call the bird thing back. It took me back to the lake. Now I'm rollin'. Thanks Darko. All of you can get back to your games and stop worrying about me.
darkobetterthanmelo 01-22-2007, 10:08 PM youll be back here in a few days, the water temple is a bitch

Shiiiiiiiiiiit. I almost came back here last night. That escort mission with the Zora prince was killer!

[smilie=donthate.gi: The game is a true classic.
And, I played Gears of War for about 6 hours last night if that helps balance things out. lol.
-NoQuarter- 01-26-2007, 07:08 PM Okay, from how many of you are posting in here, I'll assume some of you are playing this for the Gamecube. The rest of you who have Wii's, post your goddamn console numbers in the thread I made.

19 hours into Zelda isn't very much seen as though I've had the game for about a month and a half now. And the 6 hours on Gears comes after an entire week of report card/after school tutoring/leaving school when it's dark hell.
Moodini31 01-30-2007, 02:12 PM Beat the water temple without help booooyeeee!
giffman 01-31-2007, 03:13 PM Zelda is a sweet-ass game.
darkobetterthanmelo 02-02-2007, 01:43 PM I beat the whole thing in 42 hours, took me a month and a half, so an hour a day. I won't spoil it, but its the second best zelda game.
b-diddy 02-04-2007, 06:01 PM i gotta say i liked wind waker better than this one. this one had its moments, but as a whole, i thought wind waker was much more interesting.
DennyMcLain 02-05-2007, 06:00 PM Oh my gothsh. I sooo heart Twighlight Princesth. Oh... my.. God. Itsh like, Hello! I am sthooo gahey.

Waydowntownbang 02-06-2007, 11:36 AM Stupid question..
I haven't gotten a WII (yet), but I'm still a bit confused about how these types of games work with these controlers. How does it work for Zelda?

It works great. The nunchuck attaches to the Wiimote and it has an analog stick, so that's how you move around. You lock on to enemies with the Z button which is on the nunchuck. To use your sword all you do is slash the Wiimote and you can do a spin-attack if you move the nunchuck in a circular motion. The A button is on the Wiimote and that is your primary action button for speaking to characters, opening doors and chests, and for jump attacks. You also move your Wiimote (a target will show up) to aim your slingshot, bow and arrow, and boomerang. You use the control pad to set your items that you want to use and press the B button which is located on the bottom of the Wiimote to use them (fire your clawshot, slingshot, bow and arrow, etc.) It's a great way to play a game. It feels like you're really in the action. I highly recommend this game and the Wii.

I must be getting old as hell, because that sounds confusing as shit.
Pretty interesting, though. I haven't heard a single bad review from anyone who actually owns one, so that says something.
b-diddy 02-09-2007, 06:24 PM im holding off on wiis. right now, from what i've read, it seems like the wii mote is just an alternative to pushing a button. i want to see motion sensitive stuff, ie tiger woods is supposed to be an exact match, which would be uber cool. but shaking a controller rather than pushing a doesnt sound like worth spending the money.

To be honest, the motion sensor stuff for Zelda does seem a bit "tacked on", but just wait until all the games are using the Wii Sports technology. It's going to be sick!
And WDTB, after reading that, it does seem a little confusing, but the game is really super easy to play.
b-diddy 02-11-2007, 03:13 PM yea, wii sports sounds great. like i said, i think tiger woods is going to be amazing. and im really looking forward to metroid. mariokart should be really cool too, between using the controller as a steering wheel and also playing online (hopefull). mariokart online could be the end of my social life. but right now my sense is most games are doing a poor job of taking advantage of the wii. which is why im slightly considering buying an alternative.

Where were you when you broke down and consulted a walkthrough?

It's almost a must for this game. Sometimes my brain hurts from thinking so hard for so long.
b-diddy 02-16-2007, 12:00 AM the new sonic game is suposed to be fairly bad ass. if i had my tax return, and i could find a wii, i'd probably get it just for that. im also looking forward to resident evil (wii gets its own new exclusive).
Wizzle 02-16-2007, 07:09 PM Where were you when you broke down and consulted a walkthrough?
Temple of Time I think it was called.....and it was as simple as hitting the B trigger.....I won't go into further detail for Moodini's sake but I really should have been able to figure it out. Oh well, if I make it through this thing only checkin' a walkthrough once I guess it won't be too bad.
darkobetterthanmelo 02-16-2007, 08:12 PM I always miss stupid hookshot things. Maybe next Zelda I'll get through it all.

I got lucky and figured out the B trigger thing. I thought the Temple of Time was really sweet and rolled through it. I haven't "cheated" since the reekfish situation where I had to hunt down the Yeti dude.
