???

I can buy a card (assuming CC) that has a keycode on it that I punch in when I sign up?

60 bucks a year?

This is a dumb one but I DO need the CD that I'm playing in my box right?

Thats why I'm waiting for Santa Claus to show up with my COD4 before I sign up. I'm cheap. :)

thx in advance if anyone answers

I'm always down for playing as I pretty much play all the time. The only person I've played with on there is Moodini. Hit me up or add me. I mostly play NHL08 and COD4. I've got just about every game though.

After 2 weeks I finally recovered my gamertag. Stupid Xbox live was down.

Anyone have any tips on networking my Xbox with my computer? My computer has a wireless network card that pulls from our router downstairs and so does my Xbox. When I tried to set it up it said that my computer needed to be hard wired to the router. Is that true?

The router should assign an IP if its running DHCP. iirc, to each node.

yup, have no idea what that means

It means "no". The router should give the Xbox its own channel to send and receive info.

Did you computer work prior to you hooking up the XBox?

Make sure your computer is set to accept a IP every time its turned on(DHCP), DHCP vs a IP number that is entered in by you.

I've been debating signing up for Live, but I dont really have any new games. I've got CoD2 and 3, NBA2K6, NHL07, Ranbow Six Vegas, Guitar Hero 3, and Halo1 and 2. For the most part, the only time I play online is at friends' houses. Usually NHL08 and Halo3

No more games coming out for it that I am looking forward to other than the next Bioshock/Mass Effect. That and I am taking up more reading. The plan is to pick up a PS3 after the next price drop or so.

I'd have to assume so. There will always be SOMETHING new in the works.

This might be old news but XBox is supposed to be coming out with a controler that does what WIIs does. You know, it reads a twist of the wrist, etc.

Hopefully it's a blue ray player. I like Xbox better than the playstations, but that is probably a big factor for potential buyers.

Sop after they called it a gimmick when ps3 and wii picked it up, they jump on the bandwagon? funny.

Why'd you change?

I actually changed it back in March.

I think it was because I created a new account to get the free month of gold before I renewed my gold subscription.

my x box got the 3 ring of death thing, now it is at the microsoft headquarters, buncha garbage

I signed on to the internet the other day and the news page that popped up said that Microsoft had solved the "RROD" problem. Anyone else see that?

Black Dynamite
03-03-2009, 01:17 AM
Speaking with Edge-Online, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg says that the worst days of the Xbox 360 "Red Ring of Death" fiasco are now behind them - or so they hope.

For all that Microsoft succeeded with the Xbox 360 - successfully challenging established and entrenched competitors, truly bringing online gaming to the living room, among others - the console's legacy will be forever tarnished by the "Red Ring of Death": The three red lights that warn gamers of a critical hardware failure.

To its credit, the company announced a fiscally painful plan to try and save face, promising an extended warranty to any Xbox 360s that suffered from the dreaded three lights. Even after allotting approximately $1.1 billion USD, reports and anecdotes abounded about supposedly "fixed" refurbished 360s that worked fine for a while - before RRODing again.

However, Greenberg is confident that the Redmond-based computer giant has isolated the problem, and that the new "Jasper" hardware should be much less prone to failure. Any 360 units that are returned to the company with RROD problems will have their hardware upgraded to the latest model, says Greenberg:

"...What we do in general, the way that it works, is that they will fix it with the latest [hardware] improvements that we've applied [to current Xbox 360s]. Obviously we're continuously improving the technology inside the box, not to get too technical. So they'll apply that when they make the increments to your system."

While it's nice to see some optimism about the situation, I can only hope that Greenberg is telling the truth - if my 360 happens to croak on me while I'm hankering for some Street Fighter IV? There will be hell to pay, oh yes.
You coulda changed xbox to vista and RROD to glitchy features w/o having to change the article. Maybe they are telling truth THIS TIME.
