I know that Pharaoh's always liked Joey Graham, too.

Nazr+Flip for MoPete+Graham works in the TM.

If we added CWebb, MoPete & Graham and gave up Nazr and Flip, we could move someone else for a PG.

I have sensed since the Tay comments and from Flip's comments about guys not being motivated night by night that a shakeup was coming.

EDIT: pulled some stuff from the Atlanta OGT to this thread.

It's obvious that someone's going to be the oddman out.

I don't think we really need mopete. Peterson is especially good at 3's but watching Delfino get more PT, it seems like he can hit them.

Trade DD and Flip for a frikin backup point guard
Unless you want Dupree to play, we need another 2 guard. Delfino is our sg/sf and best "all around" swing man off the bench, but he is not our scorer off the bench. Mo Pete can cover that better than flip murray and keep the scoring pressure off of Delfino..

Pistons interested in MoPete

DOUG SMITH
Toronto Star

BOSTON–Another day, another team interested in Morris Peterson.

Two NBA sources confirmed yesterday the Detroit Pistons are trying to repatriate the Michigan native, calling to see if Raptor general manager Bryan Colangelo is interested in dealing Peterson back to his home state.

That would bring the number of teams looking into Peterson to almost a dozen.

It would be folly, however, to think Colangelo would make a lateral move involving the seven-year veteran, whose resurgent play of late has made him a key component of Toronto's second unit.

"Several teams continue to call and inquire about certain players on our roster," Colangelo said yesterday as the Raptors prepared to meet Boston tonight.

"While we are certainly looking to improve our basketball team and making those same calls, nothing has been suggested or discussed with any team to date that we are prepared to act on."

Peterson is in the final year of a contract that pays him $4.55 million (U.S.) this season.

He's basically a 3 pt chucker that doesn't play defense.

An NBA source also confirmed Thursday that the Pistons have had ongoing discussions with Toronto about former Michigan State star small forward Morris Peterson. As many as 12 teams have contacted the Raptors about Peterson.

The Raptors are reportedly seeking an athletic, young swingman with a big upside who can shoot threes and get to the free-throw line.

Gee, who is that?

Mo is a good defender.

Glenn

We should have drafted Mo in the first place instead of :mateen:

But then we would have never had :jb: so nevermind.

What is this, bring home all the hometown guys? Works in fantasy land...

Mo is a good defender.
I agree with the Blind guy. Mo has decent defense. In fact he's bruce bowen compared to Flip murrays defense.

I thinking bringing in Graham and MoPete is a ridiculous idea. We have a logjam of bigs, so we're talking about trading some of them to create a logjam of swingmen? We'd have Graham, MoPete, Delfino, and Dupree just as our backups!

Black Dynamite

The Raptors dont want a big. they want a swing man.

Zekyl
01-12-2007, 01:52 PM
if they want a swingman, they're not going to be adding Graham to any deals.

Glenn

Graham's been in and out of the doghouse and there are Raps fans that feel he is in need of a "fresh start" somewhere.

Either way, I don't want to give up Delfino. If they're willing to take FlipM then I'd be happy to make a deal though.

Black Dynamite

i dont think they want delfino either. he's in a similar mode to graham as far scoring attributes go. Flip is obviously the only perimeter player we'd be willing to deal i think.

I think Nazr straight up for Mo Pete makes sense for both teams, if the Pistons sign Webber.

Glenn

Nazr and Rasho reunited, and it feels so good.

Give them Delfino if they want it's buyout season we can just grab Francis on Thursday when he is available then we have a complete bench. j/k

I think we have to give them Delfino if we want MoPete.

Joey Graham doesn't get much PT which would leave a whole at a PURE SF. Fred Jones is more of a shooting guard while Bargaini is more of a big. Jorge Grabajosa is more of a big as well although all are capable of playing some minutes at the 3. Delfino would have to go in and play more minutes at the 3. Since Rasho is having a shit year, we send them Nazr who is also having a shit year and let him fuck around with Rasho

I dont see it honestly. We're trying to improve overall. keeping flip with mo pete doesnt do that IMO.

Of course I just had a thought.

Toronto wants a swingman? pistons want a SG? and Houston wants anything it can get? Coincidence of a 3 way trade? Bonzi to Toronto, Flip murray to houston with maybe Nazr, Mo pete to detroit?hmmmmmm

If the Raptors get Flip Murray for Mopete, the Raptors are just being retarded. Flip would be happy because hed be getting alot of minutes in Toronto.

The Raps wanted an athletic swingman who can shoot the 3. Flip isn't so good at 3's and Fino is obviouslybetter. Delfino is much more athletic and can get to the line more often because he always dunks that shit. Flip takes it to the whole but always gets stuffed like shit.

who would the Raps want? I would guess that Fino is much more attractive than Flip.

as for the 3 way trade guts proposed...fuck yea[smilie=heatsmiley2:

delfino is no better than graham offensively, i doubt they are pressed to get him. Plus again i think Joe D has a serious thing about wanting to keep Delfino and believes he has too much upside to pass up.

I'd say Delfino, along with Tay, Billups, and Rip are the untradeables in Joe's mind. Sheed is probably close to untradeable, mostly because of his contract.

I agree with that. You could probably add Mad Max to that list as well.
Joe D went as far as saying that he'd punish the scrubs in the NBDL and
it wouldn't be fair to send him down. He's here to stay as well IMO.

i heard toronto wanted a first AND maxiell for mopete. i wouldnt give them either, so if this is true its going to take a lot of negotiations or its not going to happen, cuz no way we give up that much for a swing player.

A rental swing player at that.

Well if they like the 3 pointer, they'd better pick up Flip while he's still hot.

If we deal Flip for MoPete, I think we'll be picking up Jalen to play the backup 1.
If Delf goes, we're pretty much set since Flip's been a decent PG. At SG, not so much.

Zekyl
01-14-2007, 09:23 PM
Decent PG? You're sure you're talking about Flip Murray?

Detroit and Toronto have talked about a deal that would involve Dale Davis and Flip Murray heading to the Raptors in exchange for Morris Peterson, according to the New York Daily News.

Higherwarrior

mo pete would be a 'rent-a-player' as he's a FA after the season, right?

i wouldn't give up a 1st or any player of consequence for him. delfino? maxiell?no way- that would be crazy. toronto can kiss my ass as far as i'm concerned.

Black Dynamite
01-15-2007, 09:15 AM
from the report flip murray is good enough for them. Honestly all trade ideas including the 3 team houston/toronto/detroit one have involved flip murray rather than any other perimeter player. flip still has value and thank goodness if we are able to let someone ele deal with his whining.

A friend was just telling me that we are interested in the lead singer from Jamiroquai (Marko Jaric) is this even remotely accurate?

Black Dynamite
01-15-2007, 11:14 AM
who knows. check the Jaric thread. Either way he's an upgrade over Flip Murray and is in the same mold with more height. Beggers can't be choosey i guess, if it unloads Nazr and Flip, and gets even someone slightly better in return, i'm all for it as long as we get Webber..

Sorry about that, I didn't see a Jaric thread before I posted this.

Any source on this three way trade?

The one with MoPete involving Toronto comes from Toronto news papers and ESPN radio check the rumor mill.

The Minnesota Jaric trade comes from Minny beat writers.
