View Full Version : The lenovo stat Glenn 01-11-2007, 04:12 PM Thoughts? JS 01-11-2007, 04:49 PM It is an interesting system of analyzing teamwork and line up stats from +/- perspective. How accurate or reliable it is, is up in the air IMO. If the systems matter or is reliable it is telling that the Pistons regular starting lineup is like the 42nd or 43rd best combination. However when you take Nazr out the rating improves to 28th. Glenn 01-12-2007, 12:01 PM Bad timing for a discussion on this with all of the rumors flying. No reason to analyze how our current players are doing if we're about to have a bucnh of new ones. Thanks for trying JS. Uncle Mxy 01-12-2007, 05:11 PM I like the 5-man unit statistics on 82games.com better. On a related note, this adjusted +/- stat is amusing for its Pistons remarks: http://www.82games.com/lewin2.htm UxKa 01-12-2007, 05:52 PM I like the 5-man unit statistics on 82games.com better. On a related note, this adjusted +/- stat is amusing for its Pistons remarks: http://www.82games.com/lewin2.htm Weird how Rip is the worst player in the league by that system, I guess because he was on the floor with the backups a lot (I think?). Whats more interesting, although not a surprise to any of us, is how the starting 5 was constantly on the court together and the substitution patterns were so far off from any other team. Interesting just to see it broken down like that. The 5 were on the court 3 times more than any other team in the league had any 5 guys on the court together. I knew it was bad, but not THAT bad. Pretty funny how because of that Lewin had to totally remove the Pistons from the conversation to make sense of the numbers. |
