View Full Version : Boring season so far...
MikeMyers 01-08-2007, 01:10 PM I have to say that this year is one of the most lame NBA seasons so far. Their are no storylines, no rookie who is standing out, and it seems like all the big stars are injured. I'm just waiting for the playoffs to begin at this point.
WTFchris 01-08-2007, 01:22 PM Aside from AI moving it has been pretty boring really. I don't think it's been boring from a piston standpoint though (we've seen a lot more of our young guys, and more Flip than we've wanted to). Most of the teams I thought would do well are (Miami, NO and NJ are the exceptions).
Glenn 01-08-2007, 01:32 PM Seems fine to me.
No shortage of storylines IMO:
The collapse of the Heat, Melo's a bitch, changing the ball, Pistons contenders or rebuilding?, Orlando draft pick watch, Ben in Chicago, developing our bench, will Billups leave?, Nash going for his 3rd consecutive MVP, Isiah in NY, Darko sulking in Orl, AI, Artest, will KG get moved?, Mo Evans dominating in LA, Jalen bought out, the 3 way fight for the Central, and so on.

These are all Piston related though, and most NBA fans won't care
The collapse of the Heat
Melo's a bitch
changing the ball
Ben in Chicago
Nash going for his 3rd consecutive MVP
Heat is a topic, Melo has always been a bitch (though more people know it now), the ball is only a story because of stupid stern, Ben was a story for a small time but that has passed now, people don't seem to care much about Nash for some reason.
Isiah in NY, AI, Artest, will KG get moved?
These have all been stories for years

Without a doubt number one for me.
MikeMyers 01-10-2007, 04:03 PM The excitement over Pistons basketball is down. I know many of my friends used to watch and talk about it and nobody even mentions them anymore. I have not been to a game this year but the crowd looks a little quiet compared to previous years and personally my excitement for the team has gone down. I don't watch as many games as I used too for both the Pistons and the NBA. Last year I was pretty hyped up about the Thursday night TNT games and now its like I don't care anymore. For me I believe its a combination of having a team thats on the decline, ownership unwilling to spend the extra dollar, and all the injuries to star players. I'm sure my tune about the NBA will change in May but it likely won't change about the Pistons unless they make a major move next month.
Black Dynamite 01-10-2007, 04:22 PM the nba as a whole is pretty boring though. In fact it hasnt even been tempting for me to get into non-pistons games. good work stern.[smilie=heatsmiley2: Get everybody on the heat bandwagon only to watch them fizzle your money away. beautiful :)
Shugadaddi 01-10-2007, 04:33 PM This HAS been the worst NBA season so far. I'm not referring to the storylines (or lack thereof), I'm talking about the trips to the free throw line. All you NBA fans will have to excuse me here, maybe I'm just noticing this for the first time...but what's fun about watching half of the game take place at the charity stripe?
Let's take a guy like Dwayne Wade for example. He is a bonafide star in today's NBA. I took a look at his stats today and was blown the fuck away. 32% of his offense comes from the free throw line. He's played 27 games this year and he's been to the line for 250 shots. 250 SHOTS! The last game he played in he scored 18 points from the floor and 15 points from the free throw line. That's almost half of his offense. Maybe my math is slightly off, but doesn't that still seem like a ton?
Anyways....you'll have to forgive me, most of you know that I follow hockey more than basketball. But doesn't this seem a bit strange to anyone else? This shit is putting me to sleep.
Somebody please feel free to set me straight if I'm off base on this one.

WTFchris 01-10-2007, 04:44 PM go post that on TOS on the Miami board.
RegicideGreg 01-10-2007, 04:55 PM that is on the level of some of the foul calls he got in the finals. 3 foot rule.
Black Dynamite 01-10-2007, 04:59 PM people kept acting like teams were whining, like Wade is so good that people are hating. But money speaks louder than words. I know i'm not the only one whose swore to stay away from as much nba as possible outside of my home team. The nba is in need of a boycott. The players screwed themselves after the last CBA and basically made one man in charge with no collective group decisions involved. dictatorship is killing the league, because its not our or anybody elses nba anymore collectively, its stern's and thats weak.
