Hit Gary first, then Kirk (http://1270sports.com/pages/115415.php?contentType=34&contentId=1466)
Check both the files on 12/5. I would listen to Danielson first, then Kirk. Gary, sorta goes after kirk a little bit.
Zip Goshboots 12-07-2006, 12:43 PM Danielson seemed to be on the verge of tears throughout the interview. He lacks credibility in that he seems to clearly have been motivated by a personal vendetta because the Big 10 in general, and Michigan-Ohio State in particular got "so much attention". The guy seems genuinely pissed off because the biggest game of the year garnered the focus of the entire sports world for six weeks. That is lame.
However, he does make a good point that in two other instances (Nebraska and Oklahoma after big losses), he stated that if you don;t win your conference, you shouldn't play in the BCS title game.
Then, he goes on to rail against ESPN for propping up the Big 10. Give me a break. You can't turn on a radio or watch any game without hearing 4000 times "The SEC is the toughest conference ever in the history of the world. They could have beaten the Nazis!!"
Clearly, Danielson has an agenda: Anti ESPN, Anti ABS, and anti Big 10.
I don't understand how he could say over and over again that you don;t know who is the second best team in the country, yet be so vehemently opposed to Michigan, and so vehemently in favor of Florida.
Overall, he's been consistent, a second place team shouldn't play for the championship. I'm fine with that, especially if he's been saying it all along. But along with that consistency seems to come alot of anger and emotion that seems to rival a petulant little brat.
theMUHMEshow 12-07-2006, 12:59 PM Some guys I know on a national board seem to back Danielson

Zip Goshboots 12-07-2006, 01:03 PM Herbstreit, of course, seems to be quite a bit more mature and even headed about the whole thing. He wanted to see a rematch, didn't get it, and he probably went home and nailed his wife to get over it, while Danielsen still seems to be crying because he looked and sounded like such an asshole, even though HE got what HE wanted.
Jocks as announcers. Ya gotta love it. Every time I hear an ex football player pretending to have a brain (unless he's a Michigan Man, or an Ohio State Jerkoff who likes Michigan), I can't decide whether these guys should be doing this or flinging their poop at a glss window that separates them from human beings.
Zip Goshboots 12-07-2006, 01:45 PM Well, here's the verdict after listening to the comments by THREE former jocks:
Kirk Herbstreit: Former player, Ohio State Jerkoff, likes Michigan: Has a brain.
Jim Brandstatter:Former player, Michigan Man: Has a brain.
Gary Danielsen: Purdue graduate, former player, raving lunatic against ESPN, ABC, The Big 10, and Michigan: Poop Flinger.
Jethro34 12-07-2006, 09:26 PM Danielson has been a Michigan hater ever since we beat the piss out of his son who was playing at Northwestern.
Zip Goshboots 12-07-2006, 11:38 PM You know, I don't even care if a guy is a "Michigan Hater". I mean, I hate Notre Dame. I hate Michigan State. I hope those two teams lose every game they play. In fact, I wish there was a way that even when they played each other, they BOTH could still lose. That would be funny. What's funny is that if there is a team that could manage that, it's Michigan State.
Anyway, So what if Danilesen's little faggot son got his arse kicked while he was studying interior design at Northwestern. And, so what if he hates Michigan.
Just don't try to come off as some unbiased pseudo-journalist, with all kinds of silly justification for it, and don't call into some radio show in Detroit and cry like a baby for 20 minutes, you no count hack.
