They should have won last night and didn't, so watch them bounce back tonight and win.

Thanks for all your insight...and I'm not a Chief, youngster.

Lieutenant?

(I hate it when people say "Chief" like that too, and now I regret treating you in that manner. Friends?)

If Tay can fuck up JOsh Howard, no disrespect, we got this shit.

Jho is hot as hell these days

Fuck. I hadn't even thought of the stalker twist to this game. Can't miss this game now.

i want to be optimistic. but with the lackluster performances we've had lately, added to our history of struggling in dallas, i foresee an embarrassing and ugly blowout.

mavs have too many weapons and we don't even seem to know what type of team we are. we're certainly not a defensive team anymore but we're not an up tempo scoring team either.

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 07:49 PM
UxKa and Jick have antied up. Good luck boys. Looking forward to the game. I don't think its going to be as bad as we're thinking. We'll see.

Glenn...Chief, I can live with, but if you would have started the thread with "Uhm...the game..." then added chief? Them's fightin words.

quick start, which is rare. we've put up more in the 1st than i expected and there's still 5 minutes left in the quarter.

might have a chance in this one!

Flip Murray just dogged it on a rebound and the Mavs get the ball. Where did our work ethic go?

I HATE Flip Murray. His decision-making skills are awful.

Damn, up 10 with 2 and change left in the 2nd. Not bad.

UxKa

Damn straight I put up some alpacas, my army needs to get back to 500. Good game so far, in the lead at the half. Hope our guys can keep it up. This would be a nice win for us.

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 09:43 PM
You won't need the 6.5 if it keeps up like this.

UxKa
12-07-2006, 09:49 PM
Dont I just need Detroit to win at all since Dallas was the fav?

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 09:58 PM
Yes. If you bet on Detroit, all they have to do is win.

What I meant is you won't even need the 6.5. They 'might' win this one outright.

Detroit could lose by 6 and you win by a half a point too.

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 09:59 PM
Up 16 at the end of 3.

Up 22.5 for the wagerers.

UxKa

Ah, OK.. I see what you meant. Definitely lookin good for our guys bein up 16.

UxKa

Why are we trying to run n gun when were up by 16 in the 4th? For the few games Ive been able to see, this isnt even the first time Im yelling 'Slow it down!!!' at the TV. Ironically as Im typing this we lose a TO due to a 24 sec violation, but thats cuz Dice didnt know what was going on. Either way, Id rather get 0 on a posession from a 24 than from a missed shot with 20 left on the shot clock.

Tahoe

Cut to 10 with a Mav at the line.

I think the 'work it in first then go outside' if you have to mentality left with Brown.

UxKa

Yeah its just like football and running the ball in the 4th. Use the 24 seconds if your up by 16 in the 4th, but instead it was suddenly a 10 point game. Thankfully the boys have recovered a bit.

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 10:16 PM
yea a nice little spurt there. CBill jumped with the ball, a no no, but through a nice pass to Tay for a dunk. Then a couple of nice rebounds to waste some seconds. Looks like a couple years ago in that spurt.

I don't know why the glass looks so half empty when we have guys like Tay, CBill in the upper ranks of the league, imo and Rip, Rasheed and Dice on the next level. I'm not saying we are contenders with this squad but we should be able to sign someone in the offseason. I mean we let Ben go so we should have some coin to throw around.

Did you see CBill grabbing his hammy as he left?

UxKa
12-07-2006, 10:28 PM
Wow that 3 was killer, we best not choke this away.

Maybe he ws just scratching. My bad.

Dork should have gotten a T right there. He was barking, Sheed was watching but nothing happened.

wow. i will happily admit i was wrong in predicting how this game would unfold.

we started out shooting hot and the mavs never really recovered. a good win for us.

the mavs did play very poorly though and we still have a lot of improvements to make. but a win is a win and we did well to get one tonight.

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 11:04 PM
Witzki somehow got 29. That as about the quietest 29 I've seen in a long time.

CBill with 5 steal, Tay with 3. I'm still looking for how many minutes Nazr played tonight. Didn't seem like he was out there much.

Tahoe
12-07-2006, 11:08 PM
Nazr got 20 with Dice 22 and Davis 14.

Minutes that is.

That win was satisying and frustrating all at the same time.

Beating the hottest team in the league on their home floor on national TV never gets old, and seeing Sheed go down into the post at the end of the game as the score was tightening was refreshing (even though he missed both FTs), but all this does is reaffirm that this is a supremely talented bunch of guys that feels like they can turn it on whenever they want to.

And it actually works sometimes, and other times, like last year's playoffs...

Fool

How much longer are we going to have to go through the abortion that is Flip at point? Chauncey was off offensively but made up for it with nice anticipation on D (that steal when he got switched on to Dirk in the 4th at the top of the key was great). Sheed shot better from 3 (5-8) than he did from 2 (2-6), that doesn't happen often but its not exactly a fluke either with the way Dallas had Dirk pinching down to help stop dribble penetration (thank you TNT). Davis really wanted that open jumper from the foul-line, too bad he doesn't have that range. At this point I'd always rather have him in there than Mohammad, though Nazr was fine tonight.

Dallas definately played sloppy. Devean George is maybe the worst player in basketball and I still don't understand why he gets minutes everywhere he plays. Stack played his usual low efficiency ball, doing little outside of taking shots. That team looks a lot less deep without Daniels coming off the bench and with half the Pacers old bench riding the pine.

Good win.

Anybody got time to find Dale's +/- from last night?

Seems like he makes an immediate impact when he hits the floor.

http://www.popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/boxscore.cgi?date=20061207&game=DETDAL

The Popcorn Machine dude does this for all the games from the play-by-play automagically (and mostly successfully). The guy is a Lakers fan, so you see Lakers commentary by him, but the data's there for all games/all teams.

Dale Davis: +8
Nazr Mohammed: +7
