Since my last thread was locked because the mods are a bunch of over-sensitive babies, I am making one last thread before I leave. I took a good 15 minutes to do research and I want to leave strong. I looked at yearly big 10 records for the last 5 years. UM football has a better winning pct every year for the last 5 compared to sparty basketball. This ignores the current excellent UM football team and current mediocre msu basketball team. Let's take a look at the numbers:

05-06 5-3 > 8-8
04-05 7-1 > 13-3
03-04 7-1 > 8-8
02-03 6-2 > 10-6
01-02 6-2 > 10-6

Read it and weep... every year UM football has been more successful than MSU basketball in conference. We proud UM alums to hold our teams to higher standards, but, still, facts are facts. You can make any specious argument you like, but the numbers speak for themselves.

See how I rely on facts in my posts. As mods, I hope you realize this is much more effective than petty insults, pics of leo dicaprio, and locked threads with cheap shots so that you can get the last word.

By the way, I am all for new posters. But if a newbie posts 6 times and whines about it all, I can pretty well predict what the rest of their career would be like. People like that leaving early will help us draw more quality posters for years to come. So if you leave, don't let the door hot you. LOL..First off, as a UM fan, that thread and argument has been hashed so many times on this site, I don't think anyone feels remotely intersted in going there again. I don't follow this site enough to notice locked threads, or stuff like that, but that is Mod abuse. If it isn't directly harming your enjoyment of the site, you have no reason to close it. And Jethro...TAKE A BREAK FROM THE MB. You act like this is a job where you have to prove your sweet posting skills,(I picture Napoleon Dynamite behind the keyboard as you) by trying to act tough and occasionally bully. Internet tough guy talk aside... my whole point is that tre posts all over um football threads with green shaded glasses. (very perscient of the university to choose green and white as their colors). It's one thing for tre to be a msu fanboy, but another to be um hater and expect to be taken seriously. The "elite" thread with my added facts just show how blind with hate that he is. Perhaps you had proven tre wrong earlier. I didn't see it. It only took me 6 posts to prove it independently and irrefutably and to make both of you froth at the mouth. Perhaps I was a bit too confrontational. I thought that you guys could handle it. I just wanted tre to confront his passive-aggressive hate for UM with some active aggression for UM. Okay, first of all it is obvious InQueerTaste has some issue. Dude, you came here all wrong. Generally when you are new, you kindof feel things out before storming onto the scene. You've got DIEHARDS Jethro and Jickboy telling you you are rehashing a bunch of crap and they are the biggest Wolverines you'll find. There is no argument you can make that hasn't already been said. We've went to war and both sides have strong arguments. We waved the white flag long before you came in. Do me a favor InQueerTaste, take a few days to read up and catch up on the last two years worth of writing and come back with some better material.

As far as Jethro's posting goes, I don't get the complaint. Why complain that a mod is actually posting too much? That's a mod's job, post a lot, start lots of discussions. I understand because I am also in the teaching profession. When you get 5 breaks a day, there is nothing better to do during breaks than read up on the discussions. Talk sports > Talk curriculum in the lounge So I understand the number of posts and I probably surpass him. And I also welcome as many posts by as many people as possible. The more the better.

Well it appears that I have made some enemies here, when I thought we we were all just joking around. We could get into a who's gayer contest, but that would be schoolyard sillyness. As a parting request, please just post a link to your past amazing killer arguments. I promise not to bump any more posts. In fact, I won't post where I am not wanted. I just think it would be rather hard to have ever argued Spartan dominance given the fact they haven't had a better big 10 record in years. Hell, when was the last year msu basketball won a big 10 championship? Their primary claim to fame in the last 5 years was getting hot for a weekend against duke and UK. Unfortunately, reality set in during the final 4 and they were blown out by UNC. This is not to diminish getting to the final 4 as that is a nice accomplishment (just not demonstably more impressive than Rose Bowl appearances).

Finally, in current events, I noticed that you posted that UM had to win the Rose Bowl to have a great year. On the other hand, MSU basketball just has to stay in the top 25 and make the 64-team NCAA tournament for Izzo to have his best coaching year ever. Reflect on this for a moment... Do you now see the difference in expectations that you harbor towards um football vs. msu basketball?

I think these are fair questions and it sounds like you have plenty of time to develop well-reasoned answers between school periods. So just post your answers and I'll be satisfied.

Generally arguments went like this, Jethro referred to BT success, I'd compare postseason success. We've all topped one another several times. I'm not posting the same garbage all over again.
