NBA Tells Mavs To Take Seats

25th November, 2006 - 3:54 am
Dallas Morning News - Mavericks assistant general manager Keith Grant got an interesting phone call from the NBA office at halftime of Friday night's game.

It was to inform the Mavs that they needed to limit their players from showing so much exuberance on the sidelines during the game. The league is cracking down on players standing in front of the bench, which of course blocks the views of customers in the not-inexpensive seats near the bench.

"I think it shows the great cohesiveness we have on our team," owner Mark Cuban said. "Our guys are always pulling for each other and I think fans can appreciate that. The league called, and we're fine with that."

Come the fuck on Stern!!

According to Stephen A Smith on ESPN.com, Stern is now sending a team of experts around to various NBA locker rooms to check guys underwear for skidmarks. Fines will be substantial if dirty undies are found.

Well to be fair, it is Dallas' fault for enjoying themselves...

I think Stern needs to go, he is micro-managing the nba to death to please his white collar sponsors, who don't really give a shit as long as their product is selling. I think if sponsor dollars and image are so important then the sponsors should be more choosy about who they use to pimp shit.

If LBJ got nailed for DUI tomorrow, pleaded guilty and faced 90 day in jail voiding his endorsement deals after he got out jail Adias would be their to comfort him with a new deal.

If Stern really gave a shit about the product he would clean up the Superstar treatment by the refs, call for the heads of refs, and eliminate the conspiracy theorists, and their growing proof showing that market size matters more than the quality of teams assembled by having first class organization.

Stern for all that he has done in his tenure, has more scandalous suspicion in that time than any other sport. Sure baseball had a bigger scandal with the steroids issue but that was fair cheating all teams could have had players cheating not just the one team that brought in the most money.

LBJ needed street cred to enter a certain sponsorship market. Stern understood that and obliged by fabricating a police arrest. "Wild Night With LBJ" and "Quest For The Alpaca: LBJ's Redemption" will be on NBATV next year.
