No more tears.
Thoughts?
MoTown 11-20-2006, 11:29 AM Now that the Tigers season is over, and Michigan is on hiatus until January, it's time to focus on Detroit's hatred of the Lions. THIS is the game to organize something embarrassing for the team, because it is Nationally Televised.
The Orange clothing during the Bengals game last year was good - but a teal-out would just seem too gay.
I like the what the Orioles did this year - everyone dress in black like a funeral and leave in the 6th inning, very quietly. In fact, if the crowd is silent for the whole game, how freaking embarrassing would that be? I say go for it - how do we arrange it?
Glenn 11-20-2006, 11:33 AM How about everyone just sips champagne and nibbles on tender strawberries?

Everyone could wear their John Crotty and Mahteen jerseys to the game.
MoTown 11-20-2006, 04:14 PM Pure gold!!!
Be honest - who doesn't have a Crotty/Mateen/Bison Dele(RIP)/Montross jersey?
WTFchris 11-21-2006, 09:45 AM me. I refused to buy anything teal when they changed colors. I went from bad boys stuff to the current stuff.
Glenn 11-21-2006, 09:51 AM I got a Theo Ratliff jersey on clearance after he was traded.
I once made a wager with a friend that if I lost, I'd have to MAKE him a Laterial Green jersey. I lost the bet but never made the jersey. I've thought about doing it as a gag gift every once in a while but laziness usually gets in the way.
WTFchris 11-21-2006, 04:39 PM BREAKING NEWS:
Mike Williams will suit up and play on Thursday. Ellis and Drummond are likely both out, meaning BMW would be the 4th WR. When asked about whether this was just a case of numbers or whether BMW had done anything in practice to earn the time, Rod said he'd done things. When asked what those things were, Rod simply said he did some things we asked him to do.
Whether he actually gets a ball thrown at him remains to be seen. It will be nice for the entire country to see two of the Lions wasted first rounders go head to head (Mike and Joey).
H1Man 11-21-2006, 08:03 PM I guess the short week didn't allow them to cut somebody and bring in a WR off the street.

Exactly. I bet if they made an offer to Germane Crowell, he'd accept and start in the slot. The Lions suck and I will hate them forever and despise them for always. I saw some old USC highlights over the weekend and Mike Williams was reeeeally frickin' good, freakishly dominant, and the Leos can't find a way to get him on the field. Makes me sick.
I hope Joseph lights up our asses for 350 and 3 TD's.

Mike Williams was off the chain that year, then he was Millinized.
Millinized, lol... that sounds about right. I dont get it with guys coming to the Lions and sucking. I do think Joey gets his revenge though, Miami is on a bit of a tear. Id like to be the GM next year, I swear no Cowboy bias will come into play.
nothing like turkey and then the pure comedy stylings of the Detroit Lions. it's great TV.
Glenn 11-22-2006, 09:21 AM As much as I hate Joey, I hate Millen more.
I want (another) national embarrassment.
Go Dolphins.

b-diddy 11-23-2006, 01:18 AM 11 or so hours till the most anticipated game the lions have played in how many years? this one promises to be epic.
heres what im hoping for:
the dolphins isolate dre bly, and joey just makes a clown of him. preferably repeatedly. there is no lion i hate more than dre bly. the fact that they made him captain after HE threw his qb under the buss tells you everything you need to know about the lions.
gusman 11-23-2006, 02:33 PM my god we suck
srt4b 11-23-2006, 02:56 PM I had this thoughtful reply all typed up then I said fuck it I am not going to let Millen fuck with my thanksgiving
Black Dynamite 11-23-2006, 04:14 PM Joey owns all. I love announcers pointing out that the qb doesnt suck just because your team does. Harrington was up and down in a crappy scheme. Kitna is poopoo in a great scheme IMO.
I enjoyed the Joey Ownage, and I hope it doesnt damper anyone :):ronjeremy:
Jethro34 11-23-2006, 09:46 PM Question: What exactly does Joey have to do to make that conditional pick a 5th instead of a 6th?
b-diddy 11-23-2006, 10:30 PM play enough snaps. i believe it was in the area of 45 % of them, so to say the least, we are fucking golden.
im sure the only thing going threw MM's head was "why couldnt he do that for us?". what a clown.
im of the belief that 80% of starting nfl qbs are essentially interchangeable. theres a few good ones that will make a bad team good, and a few bad ones that'll make a good team bad, but for the most part, a qb's success is dictated by his system and what surrounds him.
which is why i found drew sharp's column so funny. right drew, if only we'd have drafted leinart, that would have solved everything... um, no. im just hoping that matt millen's fate is tied to marinelli's. that way the lions will maybe be free in 2 years.
Glenn 11-28-2006, 08:26 AM The Lions organization is taking a lot of national heat for playing Billy Joel's "Piano Man" during Harrington's introduction.
Personally, I loved it, but you just can't do that if you are a shitty organization like the Lions.

?
Why?
He plays the piano, he was known for it before the draft. He was public about it. Would it be wrong to do for Grant Hill?
It isn't like the played "Strawberry Fields Forever", or "No sex in the Champagne Room".
Glenn 11-28-2006, 08:40 AM I'm not sure why the national honks are so upset about it, but I think if you are the Lions, you are in no position to be throwing stones about anything, ever.
It's pretty clear that it was done with malicious intent, which again, I like.
WTFchris 11-28-2006, 10:00 AM I had no problem with the music. But they should not have introduced him at all. Apparently the team (in this case the Dolphins) always tells the home team who they want announced. They chose to have the entire defense announced, and not Joey individually. The Lions ignored that and did it anyway to get him booed. That is a classless move IMO.
