View Full Version : Who will be fired first? (2K6 edition)
Glenn 11-15-2006, 01:56 PM We've done this poll several times before, so here it is again.
Note that this isn't "who deserves to get fired first" it's "who will be fired first".
Even though Terry Stotts is complete garbagjosa, word is Doc and Fratello are looking at a quick exits instead of him.
I voted for Doc
Glenn 11-15-2006, 02:05 PM Fuck.
I forgot to make the votes public in the poll so if you vote, post an explanation too.
Glenn 11-15-2006, 02:54 PM I'm going Fratello with the Rivers/Ainge package a close second.
I'm guessing that Zeke gets through the All Star break and then Herb Williams takes over.
UberAlles 11-15-2006, 02:55 PM How come Zan Tabak is not on this list?

UberAlles 11-15-2006, 03:01 PM I voted for Dwayne Casey because statistically, black coaches get fired earlier and he took a no win job. Idiot GM, arrogant owner, tempermental superstar.
And Mike James.
Glenn 11-15-2006, 03:02 PM How come Zan Tabak is not on this list?

Somebody else not shown above
Duh.
UberAlles 11-15-2006, 03:04 PM Don't get cute with me Glen. [smilie=Francis]
Zan Tabak deserves his own entry. More effort please!
Glenn 11-15-2006, 03:08 PM But if I included Zan Tabak, then I'd have to include Vic Tayback too.
Where does it end?

UberAlles 11-15-2006, 04:46 PM Good call Glenn. Damn the Tabaks!
MoTown 11-15-2006, 04:53 PM Flip Saunders.......... please?
UberAlles 11-15-2006, 05:06 PM Flip Saunders is a dead man walking...
Varsity 11-15-2006, 05:37 PM i went with Bob Hill, didn't he almost get dropped last year?
b-diddy 11-15-2006, 06:46 PM the doc is gone. though i guess fratello would have been a solid choice, too.
of all the coaches i hope dont get fired, its zeke. first, a little loyalty. second, i picked him as my sleeper for COY (yikes!). third, great voyerism. he threatened to break someone's neck? great! fourth, zeke destroys knick fans' will to live. they deserve the missery they get. plus, you know whoever they replace zeke with will be the savior, till he isnt, and then he's the scapegoat. samething over and over again in NY, i'd rather have zeke keep on going.
Daviticus 2.39 11-15-2006, 07:34 PM Dwayne Casey, Minny has talent, and so far, their record is not showing it. Maybe they'll bring back Saunders after we fire him.
Laxation 11-16-2006, 05:27 AM Doc Rivers. Bill Simmons really has it in for him... I'm guessing he has a reason to do so
Maybe he found out that Doc likes the Pistons.
Glenn 11-17-2006, 10:02 AM Apparently, one of our site's lurkers, Chris Sheridan, wrote an ESPN Insider piece on this yesterday.
Anybody got a summary?
Black Dynamite 11-17-2006, 03:25 PM doc
Pharaoh 11-20-2006, 09:56 AM Doc - Celtics have a bunch of young talent and "experts" believe young talent = improved record.
The fact remains that youth doesn't win in the NBA. It generally takes a few seasons for the young guns to get the message and turn potential into production.
The Celtics IMO are too young to do much this season, but next season should be better so if Doc does get fired the next Coach will look like a genius
Glenn 11-20-2006, 09:58 AM Boston has actually won 3 games in a row.
I'm still thinking it's Fratello, but 20 votes in and I'm the only guy that feels that way, so what do I know?
FWIW in the next few days expect the Skiles on the hot seat rumors to be heating up despite what will be heavy denial by Paxson and the rest of the front office. Apparently Scotty is now working on fix it by X-mas leash.
The sweet irony of the whole deal is if Skiles is shown the door the natural choice for a replacement will be a non ball buster given that is the generally accepted practice in coaching. Therefore Ben's desire to play for a ball busting defense first coach will be for not, but at least he has his money.
Glenn 11-22-2006, 09:06 AM Will we see the return of b-diddy's avatar to Chicago?
Or...LB?
Pharaoh 11-22-2006, 10:01 AM LB? LMMFAO
No way he gets another gig - although I read a "report" (made up story) claiming Charlotte is the "logical" destination for him.
And LMMFAO @ Ben Wallace is Skiles is axed. J is right. Usually a "calm" presence is appointed after a bull buster is fired. Happens all the time, though it doesn't always work.
Black Dynamite 11-22-2006, 11:31 AM i think he meant doug cry me a river collins.
Glenn 12-28-2006, 06:45 PM I'm going Fratello with the Rivers/Ainge package a close second.
Fratello it is, I win.
Uncle Mxy 12-28-2006, 07:01 PM Glenn gets a

on his forehead.
Glenn 01-23-2007, 05:47 PM Another one bites the dust. Dwane Casey was canned. Assistant coach Randy Wittman taking over.
