the pistons start a five game West coast trip (utah, sacramento, lakers, golden state, and new orleans).

i think we need a memo tribute or something........you know?

Well the two teams we beat had nothing going on inside to begin with.

This is a real test for our interior D, with Memo and Boozer on the inside.

*hopes we don't have another points in the paint breakdown like against Milwaukee*

Vinny's is solid enough to stand on its own.

Plus, it comes out after Memo owns us.

I think that's the first time Rasheed has ever gotten a tech for scoring.

Memo with 15 points and Boozer with 14 points as we start the 2nd half. The interior defense is hilariously bad.

Not to mention the rebounding.

I wish Flip would stress boxing out. Its really a joke seeing 4 Pistons standing in the paint and watchiing the ball nstead of getting position infront of their man.

Only down 3 but that 2 for 1 for us didn't work out like Flip thought.

2 poss for us = 0pts
1 poss for them =3pts.

derek fisher is one of those guys that all you can say is "good thing he plays in the WC". man he loves killing us. im thinking he has some issues about 04 still.

if you wanted to make a team of avg guys that go nutso on us, he'd be the pg. off the top of my head, it'd start with something like:

pg: fisher
sg: charlie bell
sf: ricky davis

Matt

damn, that was crazy. i don't think Chauncey's shot would have made it in time anyways, unfortunately.

Rip look like he got mugged......would have been nice to get that call, but i guess it's too late in teh game for the refs to bail him out.

If the Pistons could play a lick of D, they would have won this game easy. Fun game to watch though. The Memo ownes us thread will have to wait, I'm too drained.

Sloan impressed by Pistons offense (http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061107/SPORTS0102/611070399/1127)
Chris McCosky / The Detroit News
Sloan impressed by Pistons offense

Perhaps somebody should show Jazz coach Jerry Sloan the statistics.

After his team's shootaround Monday morning, Sloan praised the virtues of the Pistons' offense.

"Oh, I think they are hard to defend," he said. "They know how to execute. They are a wonderful team. I really enjoy watching them play, except when we have to play them. They do things right.

"They know how to get the ball to certain people in certain situations. They don't just rely on guys jumping up and shooting over the top of you. They do a lot of things within the team concept that I really appreciate."

That's funny coming from the coach of a team that has held the Pistons under 100 points in 26 of the last 28 meetings.

The Pistons hadn't topped 100 points in Salt Lake City since Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars were playing, until Monday night, when they lost 103-101 to the Jazz..

The previous 10 trips, Detroit averaged 86.9 points.

"Yeah, but going back 10 years you are talking about playing against John Stockton and Karl Malone ," Pistons coach Flip Saunders said.

OK, in the last four seasons, the Pistons have averaged 84.2 points in Salt Lake City.

"This is really a tough place to play," Saunders said. "The crowd is right on top of you and they really get into the game. And, the other thing, the Jazz play very physical and they seem to get a lot of the calls here."

Chauncey Billups is in his 10th season. He has won exactly two games in Salt Lake City -- one with the Pistons in 2002, and the other with the Timberwolves in 2001.

"The altitude has something to do with it, but the Jazz, that's just a well-coached, disciplined, hard-nose team and they are very good at home," Billups said.

Slam dunks

Dale Davis (left hamstring) ran with the team during its light pregame walkthrough Monday.

It was the first time in several weeks he was able to do that. Davis is still at least a week or two away from returning.

Chris McCosky

seemed appropriate.

Chauncey caught the ball after time expired. On the replay the red lights on the basket were on just as he caught it. RIP should have pulled up and shot it. If only one guy was back, I agree with taking it to the basket. Not into a double team though.
