Let me know if you like someone I didn't list and I'll add them.

I went with Brady for now, but my vote would probably swing to Peyton if he beats the Pats this weekend.

I voted for Peyton. Undefeated (as of now), with a horrible defense and no Edge. If NE were undefeated I would have picked Brady though. After this week I would if they win.

It's too hard to pick anyone on Chicago. They've been dominant everywhere, and a big part of it is the crap teams they've played. I still think they are the best team in the NFC, but they haven't been tested either.

I picked Brady. I know that Peyton is an on-field coach, but I think he has more offensively around him receiver wise to work with. Those guys get so wide open Sorgi could put together drives (hehe).

Manning's the man so it seems.

Champ Bailey is starting to get some buzz too.

Champ Bailey is starting to get some buzz too.

I can't think of any defender worthy of my MVP vote. Maybe Merriman (32 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 1 INT in 7 games) before his suspension, but not now.

I just looked the numbers up and Bailey has 44 tackles and 5 INT's. Pretty good numbers, but Mathis also has 33 tackles and 6 INT's. Bailey would get the nod for me because he's on a better team with a great defense. Kampman for GB has 44 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 3 Forced Fumbles. Impressive, but also on a crappy team.

BTW, i would update the poll to eliminate the guys on crappy teams (bulger) and I might add Brees and/or Colston in the mix too.

I think the thought on Bailey is that there is more there than the numbers indicate.

I know the phrase "shut down corner" gets thrown out there too much, but if in fact he is taking away a third, or even half of the field, and QBs aren't testing him, then his numbers won't reflect that.

The same used to be said about Deon Sanders in his prime.

I would agree with that. Shut down CB's are like elite blocking FB's. You notice what they do on film, but not as much on the stat page.

I had to go with Donovan his team is average at best and he's going to get them to the playoffs. From a ridiculous numbers standpoint, I'd vote for LT, I guess.

Unless they changed it and I missed it, the NFL does offensive and defensive MVPs separately.

Also Mortensen just said on the radio that he honestly thinks the Colts would be 1-7 or even 0-8 without Manning.

I kid you not.

Actually the NFL awards one MVP, but in addition, the Associated Press names one Offensive Player of the Year and one Defensive Player of the Year.

Good call.

Wow, the last defensive guy was LT in 86 but get this: In 1982, Mark Moseley won the AP award -- a frigging kicker!

haha, that's funny. So the Lions have more talent than Indi? Yeah right Mort. I could see them being 4-4 without Peyton (assuming they have your standard blah QB who should be a backup on a good team). They probably would have lost to Denver and NE, but still have more talent most nights.

LT now has 16 TDs.

In an unrelated note, Edgerrin James has 3.

I bet there are a lot of people who drafted Alexander over LT too. LOL
