View Full Version : If you could buy one full sized arcade game...?
what would it be?
i was just at Chuck E. Cheese last weekend (not for me ) and i was playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with three others. crazy nostalgia right there. just two buttons, jump and attack, but the four player made it fun as hell.

now, if i had to pick one game and i had the extra cash laying around, i think i'd be torn between a few games: Gauntlet, NBA Jam, and Street Fighter II. while gauntlet was the shit because it was four player, Street Fighter was the original for me.

Before I even opened the thread I was thinking TMNT. I would go with a pinball machine though... either T2 or the Guns n Roses one.
Vinny 10-24-2006, 02:08 PM I remember that TMNT game well.
If we're including Pinball, it would be Addams Family pinball, hands down. Great game.
As for arcade games, I'd be torn. Probably like Double Dragon or Tekken 2.

Damn, forgot about the GnR one. "Axl Combo"!! Classic!
Yeah my roomie and gf swear by the Addams Family pinball. I got it on virtual pinball but I cant get into it.
When I was growing up my best friend had a couple arcade cabinets (Popeye and Galaga) and a couple pinball machines in his basement. If I got one, it'd probably be the 4 player X-Men one where you fight Magneto at the end.
Hermy 10-24-2006, 06:03 PM Galaga/Ms.Pacman sitdown combo.

JickBoy34 10-24-2006, 08:27 PM How 'bout NBA Jam?
Moodini31 10-25-2006, 11:01 AM I loved the arcades, even had many birthday parties at Alladin's Castle where we would rent out the place, they'd shut the gate behind us, and they'd put unlimited credits on all the games! [smilie=yourock.gif]
With all that said, I never really had one game that stood out, I just played everything. You cats may think I'm whack, but some of my favorites were Lucky and Wild (right Wizzle?), Aerosmith Revolution X, and the original Soul Edge. I used to kill cats with Siegfried. YO!
Wizzle 10-25-2006, 04:52 PM LUCKY AND WILD! I've been trying to remember their names since I opened this thread this morning......classic

WTFchris 10-27-2006, 11:57 AM The GnR pinball machine was awsome. Welcome to the Jungle baby.
I'd probably get NBA Jam. I can still here the machine saying "Izzalino for 3!!!" (i have no idea who Izzalino was but he played for the mavs in the game I think).
The marvel vs capcom ones rocked too.
I liked the Simpsons game too and also the X Men game (2 screens and 6 players I think) which were similar to the TMNT style.

Glenn 11-01-2006, 10:54 AM Moon Patrol, Galaga or NBA Jam.
There was a cool carnival themed pinball game I used to like in high school, something like "Cyclone" or something like that.
It had a guy's voice that used to say "ride the ferris wheel" and a haunted house dude that said "welcome to my house".
I used to play that thing for an hour or so on a single quarter.
Name escapes me.
Im guessing this is what youre talking about Glenn:
