Default settings, except a 40 limit move on moves. We can change that if someone hits a lot of injuries, but I wanted to prevent the 3-4 add/drops a day that happened before.
Your live online draft is set for Wed Oct 25 9:00pm EDT, which is 8 days, 11 hours, and 8 minutes from now.
Glenn 10-17-2006, 09:57 AM I assume we have the "quitters get suspensions" rule in effect?
I'm a waiver wire warrior, so the 40 move thing is something of a handicap.
Head to head or roto?
alright, i'm in and i WILL be paying close attention, this time. i should be available for the live draft, too.
WTFchris 10-17-2006, 10:10 AM Head to head. I can change the amount of moves, that isn't a problem. I want to make it a number where you can make your normal roster drops, but not abuse the system and make like 100 moves.
There are 21 weeks of play. How many moves a week is appropriate? 2? 3?
And I am thinking we should make a page on here called the Fantasy Hall of Shame. Anyone that quits paying attention will be put in the hall of shame. I also want to make a Fantasy Hall of Fame denoting the trophy winners in all WTF leagues.
Id like to get in on this. From the read Im assuming its a player specific fantasy league and not a pick-em like the NFL league goin on here? I played an NBA fantasy league once and lost only because I didnt know the fantasy playoffs were the last two weeks of the regular season (story not needed but true, I would have won $500).
Laxation 10-22-2006, 03:35 AM Sounds like good times :)
Whats the scoring? Most categories wins?
WTFchris 10-23-2006, 10:43 AM yup, most categories. Standard categories really...pts, rbs, ast, stl, 3s all count positive and to's, count negative. FG and FT %'s factor in as well. join in, we start soon.
robcat911 10-23-2006, 04:06 PM I joined up....hope thats ok....you can just boot me out if its a private thing...wont hurt my feelings....
i would silently weep on the floor if you guys booted me out.
:wtf:
:inquisitive:
:furious2:
MoTown 10-23-2006, 04:48 PM I joined up....hope thats ok....you can just boot me out if its a private thing...wont hurt my feelings....
Ain't nothing private about this place. There's one call for us all.
Ain't nothing private about this place. There's one call for us all.
oh damn. that is quality marketing, even Tom Wilson would be jealous of.

WTFchris 10-26-2006, 02:26 PM well, due to courtside tickets I missed the draft. My team is better than I thought it would be though. Just minor tweaks to do.
Varsity 10-27-2006, 12:03 PM I missed all you at the draft, though I admit it was hilarious watching auto-draft stick people with back ups that were rated ahead of starters.
Pharaoh 10-29-2006, 10:20 AM So who got who?
Man, I wanted to join. :(
WTFchris 10-30-2006, 09:49 AM So who got who?
Well here is my team:
PG Kidd
SG Hinrich (PG/SG)
G Mike James
SF Marion
PF Odom
F Maggs
C Gasol
C Dalembert
Utl Childress
Utl TJ Ford
Bench: Payton, Haslem, Posey
MoTown 10-30-2006, 09:55 AM You didn't pick Antoine Walker with your first pick? Have fun in the cellar, Chris.
WTFchris 10-30-2006, 10:20 AM I would have but I missed the draft. Oh well, there is always next year.
Laxation 10-30-2006, 11:58 PM I ended up with a nice team... plenty of bigs
T-Pizzle
Josh Smith
Jameer Nelson
Danny Granger
Dirk Nowit....
Boris Diaw
Tyson Chandler
Darko
Sheed
Dunleavy JR
Delonte West
JR Smith
Eddy Curry
damn, Glenn...i was going to snatch up G.Hill.
Glenn 10-31-2006, 09:46 AM I'm not that fond of my team. I had to do some rebuilding already due to the wonderful Yahoo autodraft skills. Thanks for Damon Jones and Greg Buckner, Yahoo (replaced them with Brezec and F.Elson). I also dropped Finley for G. Hill.
Arenas
Iguodala
Raja
Peja
Gooden
Morrison
PJ Brown
Brezec
G.Hill
Amare
Korver (for FREEfro)
Bibby (INJ)
Elson
I'm more of a roto player than a H2H player, so my strategy in this format is a bit shaky.
WTFchris 10-31-2006, 04:27 PM your chances rest on Amare coming back strong. If so, he's a stud (and fits in nice with Arenas and Peja). If not you are very thin up front.
Glenn 11-01-2006, 12:48 PM I can't believe that Mo Evans is still available on the waiver wire.
are you supposed to edit your lineup everyday, so that you have someone playing at each position each day?
WTFchris 11-02-2006, 10:09 AM are you supposed to edit your lineup everyday, so that you have someone playing at each position each day?
yes. but you can edit your lineup as far in advance as you want. I usually set my lineup daily (because I do it at work), then set the weekend in advance on Friday.
hey guys, there's a new trading block feature that lets you put player on the trading block (obviously), but also lets you announce which stat categories you need:

Glenn 11-03-2006, 11:48 AM I'm going to be screwed by the 60 move limit.
2 games in and I've already made 7 of them.
What can I say, I have an itchy trigger finger.
WTFchris 11-03-2006, 11:52 AM So who is going to trade me a center? With Gasol out I only have 1 center.

john madden says, tough actin' tinactin can help with that itch.

Lax and I just swung a deal.
I'm not sure. But if it does I can adjust your current "moves" later. I was not factoring trades into the moves count but Yahoo may. I can always fix the moves you have so don't worry about trades.

Can you add a few more wins for me too while you are at it?
WTFchris 11-14-2006, 01:16 PM I should subtract wins for not offering me any good trades.
Cross 11-15-2006, 06:44 AM Glenn, your trade is really tempting:(
WTFchris 11-27-2006, 09:08 AM Since the Boston Teebaggers are not paying attention we have two options.
1) lock their team and let the matchups play out.
2) drop their players into the waiver pool and let eveyone have a crack at them based on the waiver rules.
Both are good and bad. If we do #2, I will probably wait until next monday (depending on how long it takes us to vote on this), that way everyone knows when the drops would occur. You'd have a whole day to make waiver claims anyway.
Glenn 11-27-2006, 09:11 AM I say leave them be.
Disbursement drafts for the players of dead teams are just a way to reward teams that drafted poorly and harm teams that drafted well.
We'll each have a chance to play him an equal amount of times.
This is the downside of a H2H league, for sure.
The better question is, how did an "outsider" get in the league?
WTFchris 11-27-2006, 09:12 AM BTW, my vote is to lock them, unless maybe we don't drop Lebron. We could all use a little help on our roster, but whoever gets Lebron would get a HUGE advantage from this. The rest of the players would help considerably, but they aren't even top 20 fantasy players. Everyone would get a decent player that way.
If we lock Lebron into his team, I vote to drop them.
Glenn 11-27-2006, 09:21 AM I'm sure LeBron is on the "can't cut" list.
Have you tried emailing the guy that registered the team?
WTFchris 11-27-2006, 09:26 AM I'm sure LeBron is on the "can't cut" list.

can't. his email is hidden. I told him to pay attention in a trade offer though.

12. Train Wreck 9-26-1
aw yeah :D
WTFchris 11-27-2006, 01:13 PM I'm very happy with my 3rd place ranking with Gasol, Childress and Reddick out. BTW, Nice pick with Kevin Martin (Matt), I wish I had nabbed him.
Cross 11-28-2006, 02:20 AM Could I get LeBron?:)
If I wasnt to get Bron, i say keep the team the way it is
WTFchris 11-28-2006, 09:57 AM b-diddy is actually the #1 waiver person. I am #3, so I have a legit shot at him (if two people don't pay attention), but I still don't want him out there. Imagine if you could cut LT in football. Whoever gets him is instantly the best team out there.
i vote to leave it as is.....Lebron would make too much of an impact.
Glenn 11-28-2006, 10:01 AM We'll have to do this by PM next time to avoid having lurkers/quitters joining.
Glenn 12-11-2006, 10:47 AM I can't believe that you guys just let a Brad Miller for Udonis Haslem trade go through.
WTFchris 12-11-2006, 10:49 AM I can't believe that you guys just let a Brad Miller for Udonis Haslem trade go through.
It's not a bad deal. Miller has sucked (8 PPG), and Haslem is tearing it up (14 points and 10-12 rebounds a game). I just need a center badly with Gasol out.

I agree. We'll do it by PM for sure.

Early struggles for Miller aside, he's a top 10 fantasy center, the hardest position to fill, and Haslem is maybe a top 25 PF.
If Haslem qualified at center, I would say the deal is a bit more fair, but he doesn't.
No big deal, we have a process in place and this made it through the process so I don't have a big problem with it.
I do dislike Friday afternoon trades that can easliy pass by the approval process because nobody is online during the weekend, however.

Actually, if Haslem had center qualifications I wouldn't have done the deal. With Haslem you get a double double almost every night with %55+ shooting. Miller isn't a top 2 option in sactown right now in Musselman's offense. Martin and Bibby get most of the shots. Look at SAR. His role is totally different this year. I'm hoping he at least gets the assist and other numbers he got last year. And if Shaq continues to have injury problems Haslem may get center qualifications (I don't think Zo will last playing these minutes).
Zip Goshboots 12-11-2006, 02:28 PM Does anyone want to make a trade for Justus Thigpen?
b-diddy 12-11-2006, 06:15 PM the center position is kinda irrelivent in our league. what do we have, 13 guys on our team, and 10 can play any given night? it doesnt matter if center is never filled, so long as you dont have active players spilling on to the IR everynight... which is rare cuz everyone can play multiple positions, plus there is 2 utility slots.
but i've already said too much...
Laxation 12-11-2006, 08:03 PM Go away for 2 weeks and look what happens... -.-
WTFchris 12-13-2006, 09:34 AM Damn you Odom, and damn you Train Wreck for beating me to Walton. lol
Once I get Gasol, Odom, Maggs and Childress back you are in trouble...i hope.
robcat911 12-21-2006, 02:57 AM I hate my team. Looking to revamp. Anyones fair game...just as long as its an even trade. So offer up!
