View Full Version : Kander & Zierden
Glenn 09-26-2006, 08:33 AM I just noticed that Arnie Kander isn't listed on the roster page at pistons.com anymore, and Don Zierden still is.
http://www.nba.com/pistons/roster/
Zierden was rumored to be going to Minnesota to coach their WNBA team, but apparently that didn't pan out.
This report from 9/13 seems to allude that he's on the way out in Detroit.

Word in Detroit is that the Pistons and former Timberwolves assistant Don Zierden will part.
Anybody got an update on either of these guys? I'm mostly curious/concerned about Kander, of course.
the pistons without Arnie?

Uncle Mxy 09-26-2006, 12:31 PM Kander's childrens' MySpace pages don't speak of them moving anywhere, and do talk about doing seemingly-recent work on their huge house. So, I doubt any other -team- has stolen him away.

Do we need to worry about you Mxy?

I was gonna say that. How well do you stalk...eeerrr i mean know arnie kander? Wait, you even got his wife to feel you up right?
Glenn 09-26-2006, 12:36 PM He's probably that "unshaven, bounced around from job to job a lot, kind of a loner" Uncle.
Uncle Mxy 09-26-2006, 12:57 PM <laughs> Not quite.
I am, however, a fairly decent "find shit on the Internet" sort.
All I had to do to find out the above info was to read a newspaper -- in the above case, it was a standard biographical blurb in either the Freep or Detroit News (not sure which). It took me all of 5 minutes to find the info, and most of that was fucking with the MySpace login from http://www.bugmenot.com. (The Firefox plugin for BugMeNot doesn't play nicely with MySpace's captcha. I need to dig more into XUL one of these days, or perhaps redo the extension altogether with GreaseMonkey, but I have no time.) Especially if they're not a big enough personality to where someone else is handling their transactions, it's really not that hard to find out shit about people.
A real stalker would (sadly) know MySpace and chat rooms and such far, far better than I do.

You're taking a shower with your computer operated hot water system set up, and next thing you know its hacked and you're scolded to death. They call him "Ghost in the Machine" in the cyber world.

Zierden gone? ...
Although it's not official yet, Pistons assistant Don Zierden is expected to be named the head coach of the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx, bringing the Minnesota native back home and closer to his family. As good an assistant as Zierden has been, when you consider what the Pistons added to the coaching staff this summer (Terry Porter and Dave Cowens), Detroit's bench got a major upgrade with a pair of proven, tough-minded players who have each enjoyed success - and struggles - as an NBA head coach.

"scolded to death"?! I think you meant "scalded to death". <laughs>
But rather than hacking X10 or home SCADA systems or whatever, I'd stick with the tried and true approach:
1) wreck your credit rating by requesting more credit in your name -- the data from zabasearch.com alone is pretty much enough to do that
2) buy kiddie porn, some of which I'd ship postally to your postal address...
3) ...and some of which I'd have emailed to your account with appropriate commentary (e.g. "Here's the boy who'll pleasure you in Thailand.").
4) Tip off Mike Bouchard and the authorities in an election year
5) Read the news.
But this is getting awfully far away from NBA action. Yeah, Zierden probably wasn't coming back even if he didn't get the WNBA coaching gig. I get that. I lived away from home for a year, got homesick, and came back. I relate.
