anyone know of any good, free software i can download to... uh, backup my dvd's? i just downloaded the latest version of dvd shrink, but that wants me to buy a 40 dollar program to actualy burn. any good ones anyone know about?

It says you have to buy Nero to burn w/ dvd shrink but in reality, if you just download the trial version, it will still work indefinitely. You won't be able to burn directly out of Nero but it will work in conjunction with shrink no problem. try to find DVD Decryptor (it's no longer supported, but you can find the latest copy online). that was my favorite DVD burning/ripping program.

DVD Shrink was pretty good for re-encoding (or transcoding, can't remember which).
