The Spartan D-Line and Linebackers better show me something this Saturday. Being decent won't cut it. They better look 10 times better. I'm hoping the offense gets more opportunities this weekend. Those 5 minute drives by the other team kill the offenses' flow.

I'm hoping we see more cohesiveness with the O'line also. Not until the fourth quarter did they look real good with run blocking. Pass blocking was great as always with Stanton's jersey clean as the opening play.

I'm predicting a much better performance this time around.

42-13 State

I'm gonna say 38-17.

I don't see the offense clicking yet. Pete Clifford is sitting this one out and I think that'll hurt any cohesiveness the O-Line would be building. I'd love to see a bit more press coverage and better play from the D-Line, the JuCos need to show me something.

I think this is another snoozer and MSU will have lots of questions going to Pitt next weekend.

Nice finish. I'm guessing most State fans were nervous when it was 24-20 early in the 3rd. Way to turn it up after that. Very nice 5 TD performance by Stanton to shake off the early INT.

That 2nd half might end up being huge in getting confidence and kinks worked out heading into a tough game at Pitt.

This week was just the opposite of last week. I was very impressed with the Spartans this week for several reasons.

1) O-line was terrific. Much better. Ervin Baldwin might be just what we need.

2) Stanton was terrific. Comes out after the Int and completes 10 straight passes. I absolutely love this guy. He just has more heart than anybody I know of in college football. He's so tough. Anybody else see him throw his body into the defender for a key block to free up Trannon for the pass td?

3) Safeties good again. Otis Wiley is becoming the leader of the D.

4) Kicker good again.

5) O-line much improved!

6) We have two very dangerous running backs. A.J. Jimmerson is the mirror image of Ringer, except he might be just a step faster. I really only want to see Caulcrick in short yardage situations. We must get these backs in the game.

7) Last but not least, Trannon. I honestly was fed up with him after their first game. He dropped a TD and I couldn't help but think, here we go again. I want to love the guy because of his selfless attitude and what he's done for our basketball team. Maybe I gave up on him one game too early. Great Plaxico like performance.

Don't get me wrong with all this enthusiasm. I'm just calling it like I see it. They dominated the game with the exception of the trick play and the silly onside that ensued. This team will still have a mental collapse later in the year and go down the tubes. 25 years has told me so. However, I'm enjoying victory today.

Agreed. That 2nd half was exactly what the team needed to build confidence heading to Pitt. At no time did I think MSU would lose, but at halftime I was extremely upset and saw another 10-14 point win on the horizon. Glad the Spartans came out and shut me up.
