It’s starting to get to crunch time as the season’s final month is almost upon us. It’s one thing to be in first in May and June but it’s who’s in first on October 2nd that matters. As Vinny noted in his capsules, it will be interesting to see if Gardenhire can snag some of Leyland's Manager of the Year votes if the Twins get the AL wildcard.

And I agree on Girardi. The Marlins are probably going to end up firing the NL Manager of the Year, and the Cubs should be right there to scoop him up. Girardi went to Northwestern and played for the Cubs, which isn't the only reason he's a good fit, but it doesn't hurt.
