Michigan State running back Jehuu Caulcrick reported to MSU's first day of practice weighing an unbelievable 265 pounds. According to many sources, Caulcrick has not lost any speed (I highly doubt that). He believes he's in the best shape of his life and the added weight comes from a great deal of added muscle.

Okay, this season Jehuu will determine my opinion of him. I loved him as a freshman. He sucked last year. This season is the make or break. If the dude comes in pounding the ball and ramming it down the defenses' throat, he could be one of the cooler players in the Big Ten. I mean, how many 265 pound backs do you know? Or he could be much slower, out of shape, and become a giant wasted piece of shit.

An effective 265 pound back would be amazing to have. But, if this guy just ate at Micky D's everyday and this is the result, he flat out sucks.

Can't wait to see the outcome. (Mood if you can use your insider and post a pic or two of him from rivals that would be excellent)

In the first one he looks like he is in good shape still, and in the second I'm not sure. He has some bulge, but also has some Jerome Bettis style arms, which isn't bad at all.

Initially I wasn't feeling it. But, after seeing the pics I'm kindof excited about it. His arms are real big and the bulge around the mid section isn't even close to what I thought it would be considering he's 265. Most bigger backs usually do have a little bulge around the mid section. He looks mamouth but in a good way.

6-0. ya thats a bit heavy then. but if he can either A still run a decent 40 or B bust through a line, then i wouldnt be too worried. remember at some point in time a year or two ago bettis had 3 carries for 1 yard and 3 touchdowns. its not like he cant be utilized in some way.

He has the size to be a dang good blocking back for Ringer, which is how State should use him anyhow. Ringer is easily the more talented of the two. Not to say they could give him the ball from time to time also. He should be very good in the red zone, especially in goal line formations. Perhaps the Jerome Bettis observation is right on. Use him and Ringer like Bettis and Willie Parker. I think Pittsburgh has some success with that, didn't they (ummm, Super Bowl)

Apparantly MSU is putting in new sets this year that involve two backs. You'll see some of Ringer and Caulcrick at the same time, along with a Ringer & Jimmerson combo at times. I'm really excited about Ringer and Jimmerson at the same time.

I think the biggest benefit of Caulcrick's size will come in redzone situations. Keep in mind that the only problem with a spread offense is that it often becomes ineffective close to the goaline because you don't have as much field to work with. If they can drive down with the spread and then hammer away with Caulcrick, I'll feel it.
