There are only 3 worthy players, but I added a couple more for a little depth.

So yeah, vote.

There are few things in this world that I dislike more than the Red Sox, but it's Ortiz, hands down.

Just think how much better guys like Hafner and Ortiz would be without that lame ass shift.

Ortiz is the 1st Red Sox since 1950 to have 100 RBI before August. He also has a crapload of walkoffs this season.

I think him being a DH hurts his chances, but his numbers are too damn impressive to ignore. He's the premire slugger in the AL.

Ortiz, hands down.

Why would you pitch to this guy with the game on the line? He does it every time.

A fart after egg salad I guess. Dont know, dont want to know.

BTW, Ortiz did it again tonight. Game Winning HR. No walk off but it was in the top of the 9th.

Yeah, you don't mess with egg salad farts. The only thing that could knock you off a horse quicker, for you Korean fans, would be kimchi farts. But if you're ok with hanging out with kimchi eaters, you've probably burned up your sense of smell anyhow.

And Ortiz deserves it for the 2nd year in a row. Screw the DH thing. Dude ends more games than a closer.

If Ortiz has to miss a good chunk of the last month of the season with his heart issues, this question gets a little more interesting.

Dye is making a bit of a run and if he gets the Sox into the playoffs, he might be able to snag this from Ortiz. In a contract year, too.

Since Boston won't be making the postseason, I guess the media give the award to another (less deserving) player. I'm banking on Derek Jeter since his team is in 1st place in the AL East, and everyone loves the AL East. And if Chicago and/or Minnesota makes the playoffs, you'd also have to consider Dye and Morneau. If Morneau didn't have that shitty start he'd have the best statistics for any hitter in the league.
