Glenn 08-02-2006, 10:01 AM Should I just go ahead and delete this?
24 hours later and nobody has signed up but me.
And, I'm so lonely.

Cross 08-03-2006, 08:17 AM I just want to participate:)
First time doing this[smilie=burgerking.:
Anthony 08-03-2006, 03:43 PM Its fun. I would have won last year, but my first weeks were bad. After that I was only missing one or two games.
WTFchris 08-04-2006, 07:21 AM I didn't want to sign up right away and scare away the competition. I'll get in this today.
Actually, I wouldn't have won if Gecko hadn't forgot to pick one week.
Glenn 08-04-2006, 07:48 AM Just to clarify, last year we just picked winners without confidence points, so this year the picks might require a bit more "skill" or at least more thought each week.
If anybody doesn't know what confidence points are, this is probably a good time to ask.
We're up to 9 participants.
Cross 08-04-2006, 08:10 AM what are confidence points?
Glenn 08-04-2006, 08:46 AM Each week, there will be roughly 14-16 games.
You will be assigning a certain number of points to each of your picks, based on how confident you are in that pick.
For example, the game that you are most confident in would get 16 points assigned to it by you if there are 16 games. If you get that game right, you get 16 points in the standings. The game that you are the least confident in gets 1 point.
Does that make sense?
Edit: Here's the yahoo explanation, I guess I could have saved myself some time and just posted it in the first place.
Confidence Points are used to give a different weight to each game in a given week. You will assign a point value (from 1 to 15 if there are 15 games, 1 to 14 if there are 14 games, etc.) to each game based on how strongly you feel about the accuracy of your selection. If your selection is correct, you will receive points equal to the confidence-point value you associated with that game.
So, if you pick Pittsburgh to beat Dallas and assign the game a confidence point value of 15, you would get 15 points for a correct pick, but no points if Dallas wins. You do not lose points for an incorrect selection.
Each week's points will be tallied, and the player finishing with the highest total at the end of the year will be the winner of the group.
Each confidence point value may be used only once per week. So, during a 15-game week, after you have assigned 15 points to a game, your next highest available value is 14 points.
Anthony 08-04-2006, 11:47 AM Ok, but can you put the same amount of points for the different games?
WTFchris 08-04-2006, 04:45 PM No. You must assing one game 1 point, and another game 2 points, and so on. I've played it both ways, so I'm fine with it either way.
Anthony 08-04-2006, 10:39 PM Ok, sounds good to me.
Hank in Chains 08-08-2006, 05:59 AM I'm in too.

Glenn 09-06-2006, 09:31 AM Last call to see if anyone else wants to join.
Also, a few of you haven't submitted your picks yet, and if you don't do so by tomorrow (before kickoff), you'll start week one with a big fat zero. And you don't want that.

MoTown 09-12-2006, 10:18 AM Man did I fuck up the Monday Night games... I was in prime position to move up.
woohoo. at least i can say i was ahead for one week when all is said and done.
Glenn 09-15-2006, 11:54 AM There are some mighty tough games this week.
Don't forget to get your picks in, guys.
WTFchris 09-17-2006, 11:25 AM The good news is that with confidence points you can come back even after missing a week of picks. There are 100+ points you can get a week instead of 16 without confidence. So you have a greater chance of catching up if you are behind.
Glenn 09-18-2006, 10:19 AM 13-2 this week so far.
yar.
*whew* looks like ill hold on for another week. its getting good though. now, how to sabotage glenn...

Glenn 09-25-2006, 12:45 PM What a great weekend for JS at 11-2.
Jay Sado knows his football.
Glenn 09-27-2006, 07:58 AM LOL@MOLA for joining the league after week 3.
He's already tied with Matt.
i'm just giving you guys a head start..........uh yeah, that's it....
MOLA1 09-30-2006, 12:53 AM I'm the best that ever did it and got away with it.
Glenn 10-09-2006, 08:57 AM So much for picking a few underdogs.
I usually try to pick 2-3 underdogs per week, just so it's not just going with the chalk.
Favorites went 13-0 this weekend.
MoTown 10-09-2006, 12:05 PM well that sucks, I forgot to do it this week. Yahoo never emailed me like it was supposed to. I blame Yahoo. Screw this game.
YES! i finally made my picks........my plan is to hack into Yahoo and prevent all of you from making your picks for the next few weeks, while i catch up.

Dont worry, at the rate Im going :furious2: you will catch me
Glenn 12-04-2006, 03:49 PM Looks like nobody is going to catch Vinny.
WTFchris 12-05-2006, 09:10 AM not when the Panthers choke away my chance to make up some ground.
Yeah lookin more like a race for second now, but maybe we could get lucky and catch the Vinmaster.
Glenn 12-05-2006, 12:14 PM Maybe he'll get sick and forget to make his picks.
(Did I just say that?)
WTFchris 12-05-2006, 12:20 PM just lock him out for a week.
what's amazing is that he's only won a single week so far.
