On Monday, Billups will host the Children's Center Celebrity Golf Classic at the Birmingham Country Club. The event is sold-out, but tickets were still available Friday for the post-party, called Stars Under the Stars. Pistons coach Flip Saunders, former Pistons Vinnie Johnson and Allan Houston, and Pistons public-address announcer John Mason planned to attend. Tickets were $150 and are available at www.thechildrenscenter.com or 313-262-0960.

Allan "I love New York" Houston... sheesh...

The Lord has made Allan Houston pay for his sins.

And Grant Hill paid for his as well.

Ben Wallace? At least Ben can't say he wasn't warned.

You can't blame them for attempting to better themselves.

Attempting to better themselves?

None of them left Detroit to follow the Lord's path.

None of them left Detroit to travel to the Holy Land.

And the Lord made examples out of them.

In their attempts to better themselves they caused great pain to the man upstairs, who values teamwork above all else.

The individual is not important. Your wealth is not important. You will sacrifice for the greater good and you will love it. Rewards shall be given to you in the afterlife.

They attempted to reap rewards in this life and were made to suffer for it.

i can't keep this shit up. damn it's hard to post a weird bit and maintain it

THE LORD SAYS THAT ALLEN SHALL NEVER NEVER ENTER IN HIS REST AND ALL THE DAYS OF HIS LIFE HE SHALL WALK WITH A LIMP! THUS SAYS THE LORD OF HILL "I WARNED HIM LIKE GENTLY NOT TO LEAVE THE LAND IN WICH I HAD CALLED HIM BUT LIKE A STUBBERN GOAT HE FLED TO ORLANDO AND I THE LORD ALLOWED AFFLICTION TO COME UPON HIM" NOW IF ALLEN AND HOUSTON WILL TURN TO ME AND SEE THAT THEY HAVE WALKED ON THE PATH OF DESTRUCTION I WILL ALLOW THEM BACK INTO THE FOLD FOR THE (VETS MIN.) SAYS THE LORD!

nice post. too bad most players dont follow that philosophy. but if they did it would be harder to win a title for the elite teams. because they wouldn't have so many gary payton types who run to either money of the best"i just sit and watch" meal ticket to the finals.

you must really hate houston if your hating on him for being at a charity event.

i dont really get it though. his career is over and we got the championship.

to quote tom hagen, "do you have to wipe everyone out?"

I never fully get over some things, I s'pose.

Houston bailing bugged me at the time, and I guess it still does now.

I hold grudge with anyone who bails by their own choice. The only one i've halfway forgave was hill. but I guess the way houston left was what forever irks me. he waited til the last minute and a limo ride in new york to bail. i didn't like tha at all. Ben knew he was leaving too. Atleast grant told Joe D he was leaving and why. He also accepted a sign and trade that helped launch us to a title. ben and houston just dipped with nothing in return.

not going to get into this again, but how can you say ben knew he was leaving?

he left because bill wouldnt match ben's best offer. EVERYTHING has indicated that ben would be a piston if bill would have matched.

i dont know why we have to go over the same BS constantly.

and hill helped us out cuz it ment more money for him. pure greediness. what kind of sense does it make to help your old team out, so that your knew team sucks. it doesnt make sense. hill thinks of the nba as a business just as much as anyone else.

whatever. WE never went over anything because i woulda called you naive then if i paid any attention to your random gripes between bill davidson and "blow the pistons up". [smilie=burgerking.: But yes its hard to fathom for you. Ben leaving because of the coach sounds totally out of character. Kinda like him not going into the game because of his ummmm coach. Yes and Ben wouldnt just not say anything directly and go for childish indirect jabs. He would speak up. Kinda like when he gave plenty of indirect jabs to flip saunders and bitched indirectly about his philosophy.

I'm not saying i have a problem with Ben doing those things. But I know he's no saint. I know he had some premedetated element of leaving if they dont win a title(or even if they did). I know that it wasnt just the money and that if we had a coach who he respected that he is more likely to stay as the highest paid Piston ever rather than leave because we wont overpay him by that much as a payoff to play with Flip(maybe to even deal with billups).

B-diddy if you disagree with something its all good. Just dont jump out like i'm not allowed to speak on what i feel was his reason for leaving. You wanna pull this out further do it in the ben wallace thread. Otherwise stick to topic.

To get back on topic. Fuck anybody who chooses to leave here.

fine points. but your still ignoring the fact that it came down to money in the end. so, when you say "ben knew he was leaving, too", your wrong. unless your calling ben and joe dumars liars.

I don't hate Houston, Hill or Ben for leaving.

I hate the fact they all 3 had a hand in hurting the franchise.

Houston didn't do a sign and trade.

Hill screwed up the franchise for years by "requesting" we trade for or sign his buddies and when those moves failed he whined. Should have gave Joe a chance (because we were signing Ben anyway) but instead bolted and tried to take Arnie with him. Fuck Hill.

Ben? No sign and trade and he's whining about an offensive coach in a league that is constantly changing the rules to make the game all about scoring! He also wanted more money, when the Pistons offer was more than fair.

Bottom Line: Fuck all 3 of 'em.

Houston and Hill suffered after leaving here.

If some weird injury happens to Ben, or he rapidly declines maybe the league should investigate Joe or Wilson.

3 out of 3 is just too freaky.
