If you guys thought Winged Foot was fun, this year's British should be great in terms of a course inflicting punishment upon players.

I have no freaking idea who to pick for the winner, so I'll just leave the thread here and wonder just how bad Phil will play in those deep-ass links bunkers.

for some reason the British Open is the only golf event I watch.

I can't believe these first round numbers. That seems unheard of for a British Open. What happened to nasty wins carrying mist and bringing in a chill? Anyone care to be in a 20 foot deep sand trap?

Anyhow, Tiger put up a decent score. That's what most people care about. 1 shot back after the first round.

The looks like a back yard in a hick town.

I can't believe the leader (Tiger) after 2 rounds is -12 and the cut line is -1. Sure, we aren't dealing with the US Open or anything, but Tiger is on pace to finish with a score of 264. Keep in mind that the last 5 British Opens were won with a score of 274 or worse. I think the winner has only been in the 260's 3 or 4 times, with a 267 being the lowest ever - done by Norman in 93.

Yeah really. Where are the British Opens of old.

Also, did anyone see that bunker shot Adam Scott hit on Thursday? I almost died laughing when I watched the ball roll back to his fucking feet.

I like the leader board as much as the networks do. I like to see the names play it out...and choke too.

So between Tigers games, I'll be watching. Just remembered it comes on at 4am out here...Ok, I'll catcht the replays.
