View Full Version : It's 7/12.....let the feeding frenzy begin!
Kstat 07-12-2006, 12:06 AM Teams can make all deals with free agents official as of today.... no more verbal commitments, no more rumors, starting now deals get put to paper.
also a big rumor going around about a monster 6-team 16-player trade involving Indiana, Atlanta, Golden State and three other teams about to happen today, and it's gaining steam.....
Anthony 07-12-2006, 12:13 AM 6 team trade? link? source? teams?

The only thing I can gather is that it doesn't include us. Radio stations all over the west coast are going nuts with it. Nothing concrete, but there's enough smoke here to make me believe that there's fire.
Harrington is rumored to be going to GS, Murphy to Atlanta, Dunleavy to Indiana. I'll try to piece together the rest, but those are two of the bigger names.
Philly and Boston are also rumored to be in on this deal as well, with Iverson and Pierce being involved.
It doesn't involve us in any event, so wether it's real or not doesn't matter. It's going to be fun simply speculating on this.
Either way, we'll know by tomorrow. These multi-team deals are either done ASAP, or they don't get done at all. Someone will always back out if they wait more than a day.
Anthony 07-12-2006, 12:30 AM Oh, never mind, If it dosnt involve us, I dont give a shit.
Cross 07-12-2006, 02:52 AM Pierce isnt involved in ANY rumors. Boston's going to keep him:)
Higherwarrior 07-12-2006, 07:01 AM yeah pierce and the celtics were just having talks on an extension....
i am interested in this supposed 6 team deal though. too bad we don't have pieces to get involved in some big move.
LOL@ the Pacers possibly trading FOR Dunleavy.
Cross 07-12-2006, 09:51 AM there was a radio report on AM 570 in Los Angeles stating that a 3-team deal was in the works.
Troy Murphy (to Atlanta)
Al Harrington (to Golden State)
Mike Dunleavy (to Indiana)
The indy player was not named but most likely SJax.
Pharaoh 07-12-2006, 10:53 AM Indiana give up Stephen Jackson for Dunleavy?
Who gets Jackson?
And a 6-team, 16 player trade would be the biggest in NBA history (if memory serves). I don't see it happening.
Something just doesn't seem legit. Maybe it's the fact that Indiana are involved in helping GSW get Harrington that makes me wonder about this ...

According to multiple sources, in a story broken by Sacramento's Grant Napier on Tuesday evening sports radio, owners and general managers are scrambling to put the finishing touches on a massive 8 team trade. Originally slated to include 6 teams and 16 players two other clubs jumped in on the action Wednesday night bringing the total players involved to as many as 19.
The Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers may go down as the franchise who started it all with their heavy shopping of guard Allen Iverson. Golden State is rumored to be the new home of the electric guard who has NBA Finals experience, an All-Star game MVP trophy, and a league leader in scoring to his credit. Golden State is set to send out forward Troy Murphy in the deal.
The Denver Nuggets are looking to settle the fued between head coach George Karl and disgruntled and oft-injured power forward Kenyon Martin. The New York Knicks have coveted Martin seeking to place the rugged forward alongside Eddy Curry. The Knicks are set to send out Steve Francis to make room for KMart. Also outgoing from Denver would be guard Andre Miller.
The Sacramento Kings appear on the verge of losing guard Bonzi Wells but will seek to sign and trade him in this massive scenerio. Meanwhile the Indiana Pacers will be sending out forward/center Jeff Foster, guard Jamaal Tinsley, and forward Stephen Jackson.
The Atlanta Hawks are in the action looking to sign and trade forward Al Harrington. The Seattle Supersonics are rumored to be the 8th team as they are looking to sign and trade Chris Wilcox who's contract negotiations have come to an impasse.
Eight other players are involved in order to make the salaries match under the current CBA rules.
A huge press conference is scheduled for Friday afternoon as long as all parties can agree and the league approves this NBA record sized transaction.
I'm sure its just an idea
