The Syndicate

Dear WTFers,
It has now been over 10 months since WTFDetroit.com first launched. We’d like to start by thanking all of you for joining us and sticking with us during a rocky period a while back. We’re hoping that we can reward your perserverence by giving you the best Detroit sports community on the web. This announcement will help explain how we plan to do just that.
We’d also like to thank all of the new posters that have joined us here over the past few weeks since our re-launch. Some of you aren’t even hardcore Detroit sports fans, but apparently, you know a good time when you see it. We welcome you and appreciate you being here.
The Syndicate has always seen this site as an endeavor that would produce the exact type of atmosphere that we always wanted and were sorely lacking, an invigorating exchange of ideas, experiences, camaraderie and laughs that can’t be found anyplace else. Up until now, we feel like we’ve sort of dipped our collective big toe in the water, to see if there really was interest in what we had envisioned. Needless to say, we’re more than pleased with how things have worked out, big picture-wise.
This is the most significant announcement that we have made since the very first welcome announcement back on April 1, 2005. It will lay the foundation for what is to become the new WTFDetroit.com.
The Syndicate members all agreed that it was time to take this site to the next level. Fully realizing that it was going to be difficult, maybe impossible, to have this site become all that it can be without 100% of our time/effort (we do have paying jobs, believe it or not), we have decided to make some exciting changes.
Effective immediately, The Syndicate is expanding to include a total of 10 members. This new cartel will be comprised of the following people, all of whom should be familiar to most of you that have been here for a while:
(in no particular order, except the four co-founders, first)
MOLA1
-NoQuarter-
Taymelo
Glenn
Pharoah
Varsity
WTFchris
OUGrizz11PG
JS
Matt (formerly iamme)
We feel that the New Syndicate gives us a powerful team of diverse personalities with varied skill sets and a strong collective vision for the future. Please welcome these new Syndicate members, and treat them as you would any of the other original Syndicate members, maybe better.
Another exciting component of this announcement is the merger of iamme’s site ( http://www.PistonsBBall.com ) with this site, WTFDetroit.com.
Iamme has done a very impressive job with his site, and he is already doing a lot of the same things that we've always intended to do at WTF (videos, blogs, etc.), so this was a move that makes a lot of sense for many reasons.
Over the coming weeks/months, look for several enhancements as we integrate these two sites together for a Pistons/Detroit sports experience that is unmatched anywhere on the web. To be perfectly honest, we really don't know how long the merger will take, so please have some patience with us on this aspect. We'll test everything before going live to try and prevent any glitches on the forums.
With that said, The “New” Syndicate, just “The Syndicate” from here forward, will now adjourn to ongoing discussions about site improvements and enhancements. Things to look for besides the multimedia aspects that will arise from the merging of our two sites, as mentioned above, are blogs (by both Syndicate members and by our posters as “guest bloggers”), in-game chats, the online unveiling of OUGrizz11PG’s renowned NBA database and many, many more enhancements yet to be determined/fully developed.
Thank you again for being a part of this amazing community, it’s only going to get better from here on out.
