Many feel that a deal is already in place for a team to trade for the Bulls #2 pick, and that Thomas has been informed that he'll be the one taken there.

Knee surgery shelves McCants

Associated Press

Timberwolves guard Rashad McCants will be sidelined four to six months after microfracture surgery on his right knee, the same injury that kept Phoenix star Amare Stoudemire out for most of this season.

Wolves orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Fischer performed the surgery Friday, and the team made the announcement Monday. Neither the team nor McCants, the Wolves' 2005 first-round draft pick, made the injury known before then.

Team spokesman Mike Cristaldi said McCants started to have soreness in the knee in May, and it continued until the surgery.

"It's an unfortunate situation because Rashad has been working really hard this offseason and was looking forward to playing in the upcoming summer league games," Wolves vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale said in a statement. "We expect Rashad to recover fully from the injury."

Some asshole Heatfan looking to strike it rich after Dirk kicks the ball into the stands

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/14857571.htm

Dirk Nowitzki was fined $5,000 for kicking the ball into the stands at the end of Game 5. A 63-year-old fan said he was hit by the errant basketball.

Late Monday, the Mavericks' star forward was fined $5,000 for his actions, Stu Jackson, NBA senior vice president for basketball operations announced.

Michael Alan, a 63-year-old retired accountant, said he has been suffering headaches since Nowitzki's kick hit him in the right ear and right side of his face. ''I couldn't sleep because of the headaches,'' he said. ''It hurts to eat because my jaw hurts. If I continue to feel the way I feel now, then I will go to an attorney. I want somebody to say, `I'm sorry.'' '

Alan -- who said he suffers from heart disease and emphysema -- said he was rising from his seat when ``out of nowhere, a ball hit me. It's like a mule hit me. It knocked me down into my chair. I got a headache right away and my head was vibrating.''

His wife, Rosie, said, ``It was hilarious how ridiculously hard it was kicked. My husband has a lot of health conditions. He doesn't need this.''

Alan and his wife said they did not know Nowitzki had kicked the ball until they returned home from the game and turned on the television. 'I told my wife, `That's the ball that hit me!' '' he said.

Players need to figure out that people aren't the same as walls.

i wonder if he would feel the same way if the ball that hit him had been thrown by a heat player celebrating the victory instead of a mav player.....?

if the guys so sick they should probably just let him die. honestly. if getting hit in the head by a ball makes you too sore to eat or sleep, your time has come. god i would love to be a jury member in that trial.

if the bulls get pierce for the #2 pick, and then manage to add some inside scoring somehow (gordon trade?), theyre going to be an elite team next year.

Dude got hit by the ball and wants money?

He should have caught it! Then e-bay that thing.

And if the Bulls get Pierce for #2 that takes them out of free agency.

Oh, btw - if McCants' attitude is as bad as some have claimed Evans + their second rounder is a deal I'd do, even if Rashad is out for all of next season and loses all his skills.

Under the new CBA we'd only be on the hook for another season anyway.

Which means this injury came at a really bad time for McCants, since his rookie season wasn't exactly awesome.
